Woodward and Jimbo

Jimbo has not only been a major disappointment, he has been a damn expensive one, his buyout, should TAMU go there, is $95M. Of course Scott Woodward is the guy who recruited him and made the deal for the Aggies, it may end up being the worse one in sports history.
Of course I have no problem with the Aggies getting screwed, and the jury is still out on Jimbo, but if the chips fall where the appear to be moving, Scott's apple is going to lose some shine. Of course all of his LSU hires appear to be solid, but except for Kim Mulkey, no hides on the wall.
It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

He did not make that current deal. That was the fAggies thinking they had something amazing and constantly giving him extensions they had no business giving him. LSU schooled them and probably wasn't even seriously interested after they fired Orgeron. Stuck it to TAMU, gave that man an extension he didn't deserve, now they stuck with him. Smart move by LSU.

Finenaum of all people said word was out that LSU in replacing Ogeron would not deal with any Jimmy Sexton clients. Kelly was it from the get go. Anything else was smoke screen.

The primary, and only, source for this bad information was an A&M doofus who owns/runs TexAgs: Billy Liucci.
Even A&M fans acknowledge he has terrible takes often.

Woodward signed Fisher in 2018 to a 10-year, $75 million contract with the Aggies. His buyout at the end of this year would be around $37.5M.

Maybe it was his plan all along. Pay Jimbo a ridiculous amount (which the Alumi insisted on Jimbo) and now they can't pay him off and are stuck with an incompetent coach. Move to LSU and can pretty much dominate Aggies year after year!????????Smart man! Thank you Woodward!

Woodward hired (at the time) a coach who just won a national championship. I’m sure (at the time) the boosters at 8&4 were lobbying for & excited with the hire.
Now that we are all a few years removed from that, Jimbo’s success (or lack there of) is his own doing. He has all the resources one could ever hope for. If he’s falling short, that isn’t the fault of the AD, much less the former one

Woody’s then-employer told him “we want Jimbo, here’s the money to go get him” and he went and got him. Did exactly what was expected of him.

I think Jimbo is severely overrated as a coach, but he had much more success at FSU and the ACC. I think the problem is as much the culture at A&M as it is Jimbo. Nobody can win big there.

That was never reported anywhere but some retard from TAMU. They got scared shitless because it was probably a tactic to make them extend him if there was even interest to begin with. More than likely it was Jimbo's agent floating the bullshite out there and LSU never had any interest in him.
