he quit recruiting and wants out after the aleva chewing.
Corral just committed to Probation U (Ole Miss) of all places.
Canada must not have recruited him very hard (If at all) while he was out there if MC sees Ole Miss as a better destination than LSU currently.

"Everyone wants to be a head coach. I hope he gets the opportunity to get it"
Thats what O said when asked about Canada's future. Yall motherfrickers blew that shite way out of proportion. What was he supposed to say?
"Matt wants to be a head coach but frick that. Let him languish as an OC for the rest of his days"?

This is hilarious, because Detilier doesn't agree with want the rant thinks they know he isn't good.
Dude has forgotten more about football than any of the idiots here could learn in a lifetime and has solid connections, if he was saying that Canada was in no way leaving then he would be the rantards favorite sports guy.

He didn't have to say anything. Putting that position in doubt for the next couple months doesn't really help us in anyway

Its only in doubt because everyone started making shite up. He said nothing that implied that Canada had any greater chance at leaving than any other assistant.

And what about the ones you missed on? Do we hear about them?

No one even discussed him leaving until our head coach out of nowhere mentioned that he expect Canada to find a HC job this offseason.
It was talked about on talk radio for a couple of weeks before someone finally asked O at the postgame presser.
There was at least one thread on here about it. This one dated 11/17/17 ... LINK

Will say again - think Coach O needs to reevaluate his “Bayou Friends” - wtf was he thinking with his statements this close to the first signing day

This whole thing just has an odd dynamic.
Really doesn't seem like Orgeron wants him around, and I suppose we could look at the Troy game (and meeting with the AD) and see the root of it.
But if we're really coaching by committee, then maybe Orgeron doesn't get to do shite about the coordinators, and possibly Alleva will call him in to discuss why there are rumors Canada is leaving, when Canada has no plans to leave... "you don't make the hires, I do. You get to stand on the sideline and then talk to the press. And you get to recruit, and right now we're not #1 in recruiting. So end this Canada talk and bring in some better prospects"
Sounds like a recipe for disaster chemistry-wise, unless everyone can be grownups about it all.

He can go be the OC at Arizona St. old Hermy lost both his OC &DC

I believe its 50/50 right now on Canada staying or going, but who truly knows. There is not a better available OC job than LSU will be for him next year. Both Brennan and Narcisse fit in the system and receiving corp will be greatly improved. There are 3-4 OC jobs he could get at a Power 5 school if he chose to leave.
When he stays and does not jump ship, he is one of the best college QB developers there is, his resume speaks for itself. Contrary to the board he loves most of the other assistants and genuinely likes BR, it all goes back to the Troy loss.
Nobody on this board knows and no decision has been made by either Canada or O.

Gotdamn I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets it.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Consider it done.
And if I can't get the ol' lady to SlobonmyknobRobbBobb, I may have to take care of it myself and goldrush25....if you catch my drift.

False, not every single assistant wants to be a HC. I hope Canada gets a shot someday, and he will, but be careful what you wish for on his end. Having relative success at the G5 level for multiple seasons in a row is no easy task. The G5 wonder coaches that put up crazy numbers in one year and the team goes like 11-1 or 12-0, its still a not a gurantee they will succeed at the Power 5 level.

He was supposed to say he would support his young assistant in any decision he made, but that he was happy Canada was still our OC. Now it becomes a negative recruiting tool and puts in jeopardy some late targets, who would have otherwise probably committed already.

His offense is fine. I was alright with the O hire not thrilled but he is botching the offense if he can’t let Canada do his thing. I’m not one to listen to rant bs, but seems like he is not making good decisions on his offense.
Posted on 12/15/17 at 9:53 pm to TigerFanNKaty
I HATED the O hire. I still hate the fricked up botch job alleva did of that coaching search.
But the man weathered a storm this season and the people salivating over LSU learning a 3rd offense in 3 years can get fricked.
If Canada leaves then he leaves and that'll be a misstep on Orgeron's part but looking at the current college coaching landscape I just dont see it.

If he leaves, I’m gonna guess he ends up at Arizona St
