With how deep the WR room is, does LSU have a WR who is a good candidate to move to CB?

Tre’Davious White was a pretty successful example of one.

Also, maybe a safety or two can make the switch to CB.

I agree, but I mentioned WR specifically because it’s our deepest and most talented room. Some of those guys might not be able to get much PT at WR where they maybe could play a lot of snaps at CB and elevate their stock if they can make the transition.

I don’t think Tre was ever a WR (at least not at LSU). I think Mo Claiborne flirted with WR some as a freshman though.

I think the freshman Prean played it some in high school. But my guess is they’ll start working Toviano in more at DB.

If they are going to do that, I'd hope they had it in place by now. Time is getting short until the season.

He was recruited as a WR, but with Odell and Jarvis in the class the staff convinced him to try CB. Out of his own mouth…

Either way, there are multiple examples of WR recruits switching to CB and being successful.

having a player switch positions is an interesting thing now with the transfer portal and whatnot. never really thought about it until this thread tbh

True. No SEC #1 WR is going to be a CB. My point is that we have so many great Wr recruits, one of them might do better for himself as a CB.

I remember some writers saying he could potentially play DB instead of WR. I think he’s more of athlete than a pass catcher so that would make sense.

If they get in a big enough bind, Kylin Jackson and Sage Ryan are basically the only safeties on the roster that didn’t play CB in highschool. It wouldn’t be ideal but they could probably make it work by moving some guys around.

I see what you saying, Jalen Brown is maybe the perfect size for it.

This is gonna sound selfish (on someone else's behalf... Idk). If they have the potential to be a high tier WR (Jalen Brown, Chris Hilton). I wouldnt want to even risk making them mad and "wasting" a year of development.

Between the guys who were already going to play the nickel, tweeners like Toviano and Jordan Allen, and the 2 freshman. Just fang and and see what happens.

OBJ and Jarvis were juniors for Tre’s freshman year

Ok so not in the same class, but Tre wasn’t seeing the field at WR with them on the team.
