I think this defense could be really good. Mo Hampton and Todd Harris needs to step it up.

Worst safety play I've ever seen at LSU this season

Hampton was out there playing a different sport. It sure wasn’t football.

Dead last pass defense in the nation yards per game at 331 and 126th of 127 in yards per completion at 16.28.

Hampton and Harris ain’t it. Harris seems to have lost a step since his injury and Hampton is a thumper and nowhere near fast or fluid enough to play deep safety.

What...have you lost your damn mine? If he wasn’t on staff we would of never gotten the single greatest player in LSU history.

Hopefully Harris will get that back before next season. Sometimes it takes longer after a knee injury. I still suspect the defense this idiot has us running has something to do with Hampton. You know if they get a real off season these young guys might improve tremendously.

We should just recruit all corners and turn some of the corners into safeties.

Hate to say it but todd harris is not going to step it up

He is what he is. He is a backup and special teams player

Hampton would be the one who could get better but i just feel like he doesn't really like hitting

Are you kidding me right now? Go back and watch the Peach Bowl and watch the play when Hampton puts Jalen Hurts on his arse on a QB scramble. It was really impressive because Hurts is a load to bring down and Hampton really belted him.

That is a big hit, not playing in coverage. How many times have you seen a CB playing under, looking for safety help over top, and see Hampton run into the screen to help chase the receiver because he wasn't playing deep? And not just him - all of the safeties.

Kary Vincent opting out really hurt this secondary.

Both are constantly missing on deep passes and both take bad angles when TRYING tackle. Definitely can't wait for help next season.

I wonder if we see Flott end up as a free safety. He seems to play well as long as he's facing the offense, but is toast the moment he has to turn and run with someone.

If he plays a deep safety (like Marcus Williams with the Saints) he can just hang back and read the field.

I don’t like criticizing players but they definitely need improvement. The least productive position on a bad defense.
