LINK

“Will serve a key role in personnel.”

Also was posted on the CC board but figured it needed a rant thread as well.

Old Lane was butt hurt for a reason apparently. He got his little heart ripped out.

Welcome back. Hopefully he'll do an excellent job in the 2 years he'll be here.

There were posters advocating for him to be the AD 5 years ago.

He wouldn't be coming if the new staff didn't think he could help and be integral to recruiting.

And he wouldn't come back if he didn't like LSU and what the job represents.

So there are two good reasons to believe that it is only positive and good for the program.

I am one of those that don't understand what he does...But whatever it is Kelly thinks it makes a difference.

Same. I wish someone would explain his value.

Yeah, I chalk it up to the fact that some tidbits of info on here echo randomly and become amplified more than others... depending on who hears it and starts parroting it.

Nothing against Thomas. Just seems like he came to the foreground due to involvement with a couple of recruiting wins, like JaCoby Stephens. One person says he was important in this case, someone repeats it, the next person has now heard he was important twice, then it becomes he was always important, another repeats it, etc. In his case, his drama with job changes gave more mystique to his rep on here.

But it happens in good and bad ways on here all the time... The Rant at times reminds me of the scene in Fight Club, when the first goon thinks, in death, members of Project Mayhem get a name, and his name was Robert Paulson. Then another guy repeats it till it takes on its own life...
scene
Yeah, this is how the Rant seems sometimes with the way some narratives grow legs.

Anyway, I'm sure Thomas is qualified for whatever role he gets. And I hope he's a success at it. But I'm with you... there was a silliness to it, like the silliness around the Binder / tBinder.

If he was integral in the Grove Collective and can replicate that here then that's a major win for us.

Primarily it's roster management. There has to be a recruiting plan(HS,JUCO, Portal) to fill needs at every position over several recruiting cycles(longterm plan). Have to build depth at every position. Otherwise you get thin in one area like now with DL depth.

So he won’t be involved in NIL?

Nor was he ever involved with it at Ole Miss
