says for some reason it doesn't help the players to announce the whole roster. you can speculate on why that is, I dunno. but they have been here practicing together

Basketball is a different animal than football. The SEC's fit was primarily concerning football (the SEC's cash cow). However, I think they tried to shoehorn basketball into their fit while they were at it.
Football was dealing with an unprecedented situation. Players leaving NFL training camps to return to college. In basketball college teams have rostered international pro players for DECADES. Including probably 100+ just this year. So it is much more disingenuous argument to do a retroactive about face now. One that likely would not help the SEC or NCAA's legal positions.
Luis does not have a particularly good argument. The international players do because the NCAA and SEC ruling them ineligible now would require both to ignore decades and recent precedent of allowing foreign pros to play just because they don't like the fact that now guys can make more money playing for LSU than they can being a rotational player for a Euroleague team.
Boiled down to its essence, Wade's position to the NCAA is "we don't care that you will fix this loophole for future years. In fact, we expected you would. But it is BS to display selective outrage and try to hastily change the scenario you allowed for decades simply because one school/coach is stretching the loophole beyond what others have and you don't like it. Be proactive next time!"

It would have been nice if one stinking media member asked who else, besides the 4 we know about, is eligible right now. I would also have asked if he's worried about the NCAAs recent eligibility rules changes.

The SEC rule actually goes out of its way to avoid saying that international players are ineligible. Largely because several of the SEC schools have international basketball players, tennis players, etc.

Several SEC schools also had former NFL players on their rosters and LSU was the only team that they sued and tried to expel.

There’s been precedence for the foreign kids for years. The NFL guys had different circumstances than the others who were allowed to play. Sankey didn’t want Harris and Wrights case to move forward to discovery. The foreign guys on this basketball team aren’t in the same situation as the football players at all.

None had players that had been on a preseason roster. Notice the rule explicitly avoids NFL minicamps.
There have been several articles on how the SEC intentionally left off international leagues from the list provided in the rule, so as not to impact international players. You can argue with me all you want, but you still will be wrong.

That case is dead, the players may get a financial settlement but the SEC isn’t opening their books in court.
Wright and Harris went to training camp the others didn’t. Pretty cut and dry in the rule they challenged.
