Nah. I went to college in Mississippi and grew up in Memphis. Aside from the beach Santa Monica/Venice can be a grungy place.

I am moving to Baton Rouge at the end of March. I am 31, male, single, and enjoy the liveliness of a city walking to bars, coffee, restaurants, etc. I am looking to rent for a year or so before I purchase a home. Any recommendations on an area to live in or an apartment/condo/house for rent? $1k - $1,700 budget per month. Is downtown BR worth a damn? I don't want to be surrounded by students but also don't want to be surrounded by old man yelling at clouds type. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks!
