I wish I could downvote this more than once.

Will this be the season Nicholastiger doesn't give up on the baseball team?

Groups steal cultural symbols from other groups when they feel their own culture is lacking.
Louisiana doesn’t need to take cultural symbols from West Virginia. There’s negative things about Louisiana but lacking in culture is not one of them.

Yes, if it was prior to days of piped in music. Now it’s a concert by DJ Mike.

We are in the hands of a DJ now. Before the fans and the band were in control

Are we West Virginia?

The song transcends geography. Much like Callin’ Baton Rouge. It’s about going home, to wherever that home is. The writers were not even from West Virginia, they were from New England.

To the OP, no, we will not be playing Country Roads. That is played at the end of games for a jubilant crowd. We have long since left the stadium to beat the traffic (ironic since 1/2 the stadium now leaves thus creating just as much traffic).

Those two features touch into WV, but barely, they are in western Virginia in large part.

No biggie, just an observation. We have a family farm there on McKinley Ridge (basically, the next ridge over is WV) so I always thought the construction was odd except for the cadence and the message, regarding which, hey, it's a song, and a fine one at that.
