There's only so much a defense can do when your offense is that inept and the coaches keep trying the same thing over and over again. No wonder they looked defeated. It took a great special teams play to spark the team in the previous 2 games. We didn't get that this game and the offense stayed in neutral.

It is. It is also a pointless debate. Both are gone.

i have a feeling that this 4-year period of horrible QB play is going to be one of those debates that goes down in LSU mythology. there are just too may fantastical elements: the racial component, the way les miles acts like a battered housewife around JJ, the lack of explanation, the utter failure in the title game, etc.

i just don't see how this fanbase will ever get over the 2nd half of 2011

As SOON AS A J LEE STARTS PLAYING ON SUNDAY . AND WE DRIVE up and we drive up and say . "COFFEE BLACK PLEASE" And JJ takes our quarter , and hands us our coffee . We have had good QB play from both , but when your coach uses half of his team , you saw what can happen . I bet you the players saw that !

Definitely. I'm not arguing that we shouldn't have tried lee in the game. We absolutely should have. Thinking about it though, I honestly think it wouldnt have mattered just because of the way things were going in the game.

The change should have been made in the second quarter in my opinion.

I thought the samething. Going into the 4th qtr I thought we would have a shot if we changed it up and at least TRIED Lee. I was cussing most of the second half, embarrassing

2-3 big plays in say, the 3rd, changes that game (which is a big credit to our D considering how bad our O was)

This much is true. The defense played their arse off. Alabama is a good offensive football team. We held them to nothing but field goals while our offense was turning the ball over and racking up 3 and outs at a record pace. Did some of you guys watch any of the other college bowl games? 15 points through 3 and a half quarters would be cause to give the defensive coordinator a statue at most places.

It is just inexcusible to never try and take a shot passing the ball down the field the other night. Les Miles truly believed that we would win another 9-6 ball game by having our defense/special teams make all the big plays.

I'm over it. Bring on 2012. Can't wait to be back in Touchdown Village and mainly to be back in Tiger Stadium.

What debate? JJ was pathetic Monday night just as he was all year 2010.But I'm sure JJ will have someone else to blame it on, it wasn't him.

THIS! The whole game was like a coronation for Alabama. They may have fallen to pieces from the shock, if we had suddenly made a big play. Doubtful, but it could have happened...

I really don't think there is any debating that Jarrett Lee should have came in at least by the fourth quarter. Pretty damn obvious to me.

I just didn't see it that way. I will give them credit because they had a great plan and the players played a great game but they were not on another level. Jefferson was the difference

They were better on special teams. Their defense was better. Obviously the offense was better. There was more wrong then just Jefferson who was terrible. We put zero pressure on the qb. Our o line play was horrid. Our kick/punt coverage and return units were horrid. Coaching was non existent.

It was more than just Jefferson.

We didn't make it too hard for them.

Reminds me of Detroit's response when they played Denver this year. "This is your QB???"

Feels like the Tennessee game back in 05 that we gave away in the second half only on a much bigger stage.

And no energy. To me, LSU seemed to be sleep walking from the opening snap.

The thing that bothers me the most is that from the first time I saw Jordan Jefferson trot on the field a few years ago all the way up until the last time in the BCSCG, I don't think he ever legitimately improved.

He had good moments, but the last 2 performances of his career made it appear that he had just been explained what the game of football was a couple of hours before kickoff.

This blows my mind. It can't be all his fault, so it seems easy to blame the coaching. Then again it was apparent to me that Jarrett Lee DID improve over the course of his time here at LSU, so it's hard to say.

In summation, I will never understand why Lee never saw the field when we had nothing else to lose. It blows my fricking mind.

Definitely. It was just odd to see. This wasn't the same 13-0 team.
