i have a feeling that this 4-year period of horrible QB play is going to be one of those debates that goes down in LSU mythology. there are just too may fantastical elements: the racial component, the way les miles acts like a battered housewife around JJ, the lack of explanation, the utter failure in the title game, etc.

i just don't see how this fanbase will ever get over the 2nd half of 2011

Here's hoping that it disappears for good as soon as Spring practice starts

well the catalyst is likely going to be the title game

it's going to be a LONG time before that embarrassing coaching performance is forgotten. monday night is one of teh all time worst performances in a title game in any american sport since WWII

If Mett comes in and plays well, it will only prompt people to ask why he did not play last year.

I don't see how anyone defends JJ in this, and it honestly has become even less about Lee and more about Miles' bullheadedness with this whole thing. I can get over a loss, but this one still hits me with these pangs of WTF. Knowing CLM, we won't get answers anytime soon, but as far as I'm concerned, that's bigger than the JJ/JL debate.

Lee is the poor abused puppy that was found abandoned by a dumpster as far as Tiger fans are concerned now.

There had to have been something seriously fricked up with the team before that game Monday night. I still can't get over how strange that game was.

The 2nd half of 2011 went exactly as many thought it would. Most people, during the UK game, realized that Miles was waiting for the time to get JJ back in the game full time. Once that happened- and I don't care about the yards per play, total yards, etc against Arky and UGA, etc- the offense took a step back. Issues arose that weren't present during the first part of the season. Fumbled snaps, lack of efficiency, etc.

What happened at UGA- regardless of the score/outcome- was a warning sign. It was ignored.

Man, I am with you. Looks like they threw the game or ULL showed up in LSU uniforms. It was surreal.

i think when bama came out on offense completely different, and we were the same, our team was like...whoa

then they all expected JL to play, and when JJ kept leading us to nothing, i'm sure they were like, "oh shite"

i mean when RR and Blackwell are out after the game making comments saying they expected Lee to play, which breaks the cardinal rule of post-game teammate comments, that's pretty telling.

Which is why Miles will run McClusterfrick psuedo spread option with Jerrard Randall and expect the D to win next year.

It'll die at someone point. BUT, absent of any new news it will fester. Signing day will begin the news thats needed. Spring practice will cap it off.

There was not one point in that game where I thought we were in it. So flipping bizarre.

signing day will only cause more gas on the fire because of losing Collins. I would be willing to bet at least 1 offensive recruit pretty much says "frick this" and goes somewhere else.

spring practice will add more frustration because Miles is not going to announce the starter until the 1st game of next season.

that one drive in the 4th fricking quarter

i was like...holy shite 2007-type shite

and then we imploded

we run an option and lose 3

we get a false start

JJ misses 2 guys, and then gets sacked

championship

It really got to a point where I sat with my arms folded just staring at the screen waiting for it to end. Strange feeling.

I never really got my hopes up simply because LSU just looked like they didn't care to be there. The drive in the 4th had me hoping that a score would keep it more respectable, but I never felt LSU would crawl back in the game.

I was not hopeful that whole game, but when JJ came out on the field AFTER throwing that pick, it became more of a hilarious nightmare. And honestly, I was too numb to care. That's when I was like "just don't even bother putting Lee in now, Les. You've blown it. Completely blown it."
