Will Paul Skenes get the Brandon Larson treatment?

Larson only played one season at LSU but statistically was one of the greatest offensive baseball seasons ever in college baseball history. He was MOP of the CWS and play a few years in the bigs. Skenes has the greatest single season pitching performance ever at LSU, most dominant college baseball pitcher we’ve ever hand even as good as Ben Mac and Nola were.
But when people mention the greats at LSU they will rattle off at least 5-6 names before they mention Larson because he only played one year here.

Maybe Brandon Larson is the 6th or 7th best player to play at LSU.

Besides the home runs, he’s not too 3. Crews/walker 1 and Furrniss 3.

If Skenes goes to the majors and kills it like he should, he will be more top-of-mind for LSU fans unlike Larson after his cup of coffee in the bigs saw him balloon up to 300 pounds.

Skenes will be hard to forget and not mention among the greats.

Skenes as a pitcher >>> Larson as a hitter.

Pro career factors in more than it should to our fans. Its a big part of bregmans popularity

Hey, I make at least one Brandon Larson thread every year.

I’m too young to remember Larson why did he only play one season?

How about similar to the pitcher that had the greatest single season in 1992.
For 1992, he transferred to LSU and posted a 14–0 win–loss record, a 1.98 ERA, three complete games and a shutout in 17 appearances (15 starts). In 104.2 innings, he allowed only 67 hits and 20 walks, while striking out 116 batters. His campaign, dubbed "one of the best individual seasons ever in college baseball,"[2] earned him numerous honors and considerable recognition. He was named Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, earned All-American selections by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Baseball America, was voted first team all-Southeastern Conference, earned a selection to the SEC all-tournament team and was twice named National Player of the Week.[2] He was also a Golden Spikes Award finalist.[3]

In this case, it was probably meant to be top and just a typo.

That is because he was a great player but he was a product of those loaded bats. Once he got into the Minors, and eventually the Majors, he was striking out 30% of the time.
Paul Skenes throws 101 MPH in the 9th inning of a Regional game with a pitch count over 100.
These are two completely different types of talent

Going from a BESR bat to wood will obviously bring your homers and average down, but it won't drastically increase your K%... better pitching will.

If Larson had gone on to be a perennial All Star and played for 15 years, he would be mentioned as an all timer right off the bat. But he was a bust, so his one year was easily forgotten.
