Watching this pissed me off again and hearing Jacques tell Muschamp about Craig Buster Davis still being mad about the play calling still angers me to this day. Classic Les Miles offense run right at them instead of using the pass attack against them. Muschamp calls it luck but I call it getting help from the refs all game. frick dem!

still mystified how an offense with that many playmakers was so bad that day.

We threw 35 passes and ran 23 times, 4 of those were Russell so not sure if it was a called run or pass. 311 total yards should get more than 3 points but i don't think it was the "typical" Miles offense we saw on 1/9/12 and beyond.

It was a shite throw. And they claimed that there was no PI because the ball was touched by the defender before it got there, correct?

That was the part that always pissed me off the most because we had a interception called back earlier in the game because the defender behind the interception with the receiver interfered. But same scenario, right? If you're going to call a shite game, do it consistently.

Typical incompetent officiating.

I think SEC refs had a vendetta against Les Miles.

Prevented LSU from getting two SEC championships in a row. Still think we would have beaten Florida in a rematch.

That auburn game reminded me of the first half of this game.

Those two plays pissed me off at the time, and now you bring them up again.

Thanks for nothing!

That 06 team had no business losing 2 games.

IMO the team that underachieved the most for LSU.

And don’t forget the phantom call against Ronnie Prude ( I think) that cost us the 2004 game against Auburn. Two trips in a row. That was insane.

People can point at ‘06 as the team that should have done more. Not even close to the disappointment of 2016. He kept his buddy Cam Cameron and made it a death do us part relationship. The cowardice of Joe Alleva ruined the 2016 season. A man with balls would have made a decision in 2015 and not had the logic of a wishy washy teenager.

the game was also miserable to be at. maybe one of the hottest i've ever attended. the product on the field didn't help either.

The logic of it all is still mind-blowing.

Basically because the ball got tipped a split second before the ball got to him caused the flag to be waived off.

This application of the rule means that if a DB tackles a receiver, but it is deflected or intercepted by another DB, then there is no PI because the ball was tipped.

quote:

SEC coordinator of officials Rogers Redding said Monday the call
was correct because the pass was made uncatchable, making the
timing of the contact irrelevant.

Not going to blame 04 on that one call. We missed an XP, gave up a 4th and 12 conversion on their last drive and blew a coverage on their TD. Then Doucet had one bounce off his chest into a defenders arms on the edge of FG range.

We had a good quarterback and great receivers, but honestly our offensive line and running backs were mediocre and left a lot to be desired that year. Especially the first half of the season
