I was at that game! The whole game was atrocious! Officials, Les, Game plan!

Maybe it wasn’t.
But that was def a catch by Hester on that 4th down in the first half. We would’ve scored on that drive and won the game regardless. fricking bullshite.

There is no way of knowing if we would have scored or not.

I can assure you, if JR was running in that game, it was not a designed play, and it was a pass play where protection broke down, and no yardage was gained.
He had 20 yards of open field on many pass plays, but refused to run. The opposing DC's were not sending pressure, letting him throw between the 25's, and finding passing lanes in the red zone were near impossible when the field shortened.
They rarely sent extra men after him, b/c they were afraid with his arm strength that he could still complete to an open man with a defender hanging on him.
It wasn't until the Tenn game that JR decided his feet could be a weapon. And it ended up causing teams to defend with extra defenders, opening up his passing lanes. Ironically, his feet made him 1st overall pick.

Then Doucet had one bounce off his chest into a defenders arms on the edge of FG range.
Man, thinking about it, Doucet has a crucial drop in the 2005 Auburn game in OT, too (dropped TD pass on 3rd down, but AU missed the FG anyway).

Jimbo’s play calling was horrible. Short/underneath passes were there all day. Auburn’s front four had a hell of a pass rush. Rather than run slants under the coverage Or backs in the flat/circle routes, Jimbo called deep posts and routes. It fell right into Auburn’s game plan. They pressured JR on the deep drops and had coverage over the top and under the deep routs every time. The last two plays of the game are microcosms of the shitty play calling. LSU needs a TD to win and neither play is designed to throw it to a receiver in the end zone. Much like the previous 60 plays that were poorly designed/called given the defense and situation.

But he made up for it with that catch in 2007 Alabama game

And there it is.........

Pretty sure tackling a receiver before the ball arrives is a penalty, Will.

Worst officiated game i have ever seen. The only game that I say that the refs cost us the game because they clearly did.

The play in the OP is #9 Early Doucet not Buster Davis.

What Will is saying doesn't even make any damn sense. He said it wasn't PI because Brock was going for the ball. Brock wasn't the one that interfered with Doucet it was Gilbert.

That 06 team had no business losing 2 games
They lost 1 game. The other was straight stolen from them.
That AU game was the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen and every single bad call went Auburn’s way.
Hell that no PI call might not even have been the worst call of the game. It just came at the worst moment.

Shut up. Poor play calling cost LSU that game.......
In most cases I’d agree.
But as bad as LSU playcallong May have been that day, they still would have won easily if not for the officials.

This play haunts me as much as it does any other LSU fan, but Muschamp is clearly trolling. You can see the little grin on his face. He obviously KNOWS that was a horrible call, but he is an SEC fan, so he’s obligated to twist the knife to irritate a rival.
Having said that, he can still politely give himself a rectal probing.

Thank You for reminding me .

The logic of it all is still mind-blowing.
Basically because the ball got tipped a split second before the ball got to him caused the flag to be waived off.
This application of the rule means that if a DB tackles a receiver, but it is deflected or intercepted by another DB, then there is no PI because the ball was tippe
Its all in the timing. If there is more than incidental contact with a receiver prior to the ball being touched by either team its pass interference . A tipped pass is not always uncatchable but is made more difficult by interference prior to the ball being tipped. Visual evidence shows the ball in flight and the receiver being tackled .

We threw 35 passes and ran 23 times, 4 of those were Russell so not sure if it was a called run or pass. 311 total yards should get more than 3 points but i don't think it was the "typical" Miles offense we saw on 1/9/12 and beyond.
Some of these people are so blinded by their hate for Les that they say ridiculous things. Les's offenses were just fine until 2011 and beyond.

they lost on the road to a 13-1 national champ UF, and an 11-2 Auburn team (that beat UF).
could we have won both games? yes. should we have? probably. but those were really good teams we lost to.

And they claimed that there was no PI because the ball was touched by the defender before it got there, correct?
That was the part that always pissed me off the most because
The problem with that call was the tip came 30 yards downfield at the same point of the interference but after the interference started.
This wasn’t a ball tipped at the line of scrimmage, rendering interference downfield irrelevant.
Early was moving toward the ball in the air but was being pulled and twisted away from the ball by the defender. Had he not been interfered with he likely gets to the ball before it was tipped.
