What about Torris Bright?

Had a very promising Freshman year, but just never really progressed in four years as a starter.

Like what? You can't make them better free throw shooters, that is something they have to have a want to do on their own. You can't make Simmons into something that he is not, aggressive and an inside banger, you can't make guys who can't shoot the ball into shooters. You can't play more aggressive defense with out the refs calling more fouls than they already do, our bigs, victor and simmons, are always in foul trouble right from the start of every game for ticky tack calls as it is. You can't make unintelligent players suddenly to become intelligent. Coach Jones (or Coach K if it were the case) is just doing the best that can be done with a very ragtag group of players to work with who have many huge holes in their games.

Even though we never made the dance, those Hickey and Stringer years were fun as hell.

Yeah, Coach K wouldn't do any better with this team.

You're right.

Also I talked to SOS at the baseball game and was shocked when he told me not to fire Johnny yet. still that was prior to the Tennessee game

No, I believe it's over.

Arkansas will beat us tomorrow, we'll probably salvage our two remaining home games, get worked at Rupp, and then go quietly in the SEC tournament.

Don't worry, if you take away all our expectations for this season, we've had a pretty good year. We're one game off of first place!

This is wrong on so many levels.

Let's hope he will not be coaching any more LSU teams, but no he likely will not have a more talented roster.

We were more talented last year. Had a guy who could defend the rim and had a versatile big man with 3 point range

Roster is flawed. It doesn't have a point guard. Our point guard is also our power forward.

It's funny noone mentioned this prior to the season when everyone was talking sweet 16.

If you grade on just potential (5 star recruit etc), probably not.

But next season could actually be a better team; it really all depends on whether Elbert Robinson develops enough to stay on the court. If he does and Victor returns, that will cause a lot of problems. Victor will command a lot of attention down low, but you can't just ignore a legit 7 footer, either, so if it's a patient offense (would have to be with Elbert on the floor), you have the potential for a solid frontcourt.

Combined with a more mature Patterson at the point, hopefully a more consistent Blakeney at off-guard, and either Epps or Sampson on the wing making jumpers, and (again) you have a tournament-capable team.

Remind me again who's responsible for assembling this "ragtag group of players?"
