This drives the point home that just winning isn’t always enough. It DOES matter “how you win”. Love the way WW breaks down the game and his strategies.

Of course. People are maroons.

I think you mean Chris Jackson, not sure about a chris brown. In all fairness, let’s not forget the whole Hack a Shack and the whole free throwing saga. Not all Dales fault.

Dales best years were when he had Tex Winter.

The Morans are a fine family.

2 Final Fours losing to the champs each time and I think (fact check me here) but has an incredible 18-13 in the NCAA Tournament!
So he has been in the tournament 13 times and has only won 18 games? You call that incredible?

Thank you!!
That 135 ranking in defensive efficiency is a HUGE anchor. It’s why despite having a good record and being one of the best offenses in the country they are sitting at #30 in the Kenpom rankings. And beating weak teams like OM and A&M by 4 actually doesn’t help all that much (though it is certainly FAR better than losing those games)
The good news is that the schedule is tougher in the second half of SEC play. So if the first half nailbiters is what it took to light a fire for the second half of the season, then it was worth it

Sorry brother...I was typing at 4am and still groggy. Yes, Chris Jackson. But where your wrong is that if I college basketball player can’t make free throws....that’s exactly the coaches fault.

There is a big difference between a 2 point win and a 5 point win
Well shite hope same can be said for losses. All ours except one were just 2 point losses. We should be ranked in the teens by the time we play auburn.

I think most people here sensed his sarcasm.

Well I guess Shaq never had a good coach in the NBA either because he was always terrible at free throws. Dale was a great coach here. Only here could a hall of fame coach be called a bad coach.

Uh wade has won 3 games in the NCAA tournament as a coach. What was that guy talking about?

I think the whole thing is crap for college basketball. You play...to win...the game.

YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE COMPUTERS.
Hypothetical: LSU is #4 at the end of the regular season. If the top 3 are say, Gonzaga (Los Angeles), Duke (New York), and Kansas (Indianapolis), LSU will go to the Houston bracket. Replace Gonzaga with Baylor, and we’re in the Los Angeles bracket.
Hypothetical 2: Kentucky and LSU meet in the SEC Tournament and end up #13 & #20 respectively. Ordinarily, 13&20 are in the same pod as 4&5 seeds, but LSU can’t be in the same pod as a team they’ve played twice, so in this case, LSU would be bumped down a peg to a 6 seed.
What I mean is, at a certain point at or near the top, bracket structure can affect your seed more than a garbage time 3 can.

Will Wade is a young Nick Saban IMO. They’re cut from the same cloth. Truly elite coaches. Nothing goes past them unnoticed. No detail left untouched

I can say it again for you if you like? Again I will say 3 NBA players for 4 yrs and couldn’t win a championship! Only here would someone not be willing to look at the facts. Like I said....he was a great guy....he aggressively recruited a buddy of mine in HS, so met him quite a few times during that time...and he was a class act. But I’m not going to give him a pass for not even making the final 4 with that team!

So you believe it was tony benford’s coaching that helped get our basketball team to the sweet 16 last year more than it was will wade’s coaching from the whole season?
