To the media he says that (Paraphrasing)-

—- It may be a good story for you to say we won the last 6 games by so few points, but it does nothing for us in the NET rankings. What I told the team, I did it in a good way. Our guys understand we had to get better. What we were doing was not sustainable.

The real reason I did it is because we are winning all of these games and our numbers aren’t improving. We aren’t beating the computers. YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE COMPUTERS. We were hovering in the 20’s. We are going to move up tonight. There’s other stuff that goes into this as we get going. As you go further up, the margins are thinner and thinner. We were winning but the numbers weren’t moving in the NET. All of it matters... efficiency... everything.

I was so mad when we gave up that 3 at the end of the Texas game. There is a big difference between a 2 point win and a 5 point win. It’s nice to win a game, but you have to beat the computers. There’s predictive models in the NET. You have to beat the predictive models. You’re not just playing the other team and the scoreboard, you’re playing the computers. We need to get as good a seed as we can get if we get in the thing. It just wasn’t sustainable. The number one thing is to win and then you have to win the right way—-

I honestly have no clue what he means. But dont have to. I know theres more to it than my understanding. As long as he gets it, I'm good. This guy is an incredible coach. I'm glad we have him.

Will Wade is awesome but if we are naming anything after anyone especially a coach it’s going to be Dale Brown

I know this may seem like hyperbole, but Will Wade might be one, if not the best coaches in America. He recruits at an Elite level, he understands basketball at a very high level and he uses analytics to an extremely high level.

You CANNOT underestimate this going forward!!!

Probably he best attribute (from the outside obviously looking in) is his ability to LEARN and ADJUST. Mostly it is POST Game adjustments, and the truly Elite can manage and change IN GAME. We will see what he does going forward In GAME!

I hate that he has that stupid FBI stigma hanging around the program, but I cannot pick another coach I would rather have coaching LSU I know there are others I would take obviously, but the line is really short!!

I keep telling people to grab some LSU at your nearest SPORTSBOOK at 70-1 They wont be 70-1 much longer!

I myself am a numbers guy. Will Wade said he didn't need the team to understand everything about the numbers, but had to have them completely understand that each thing they do moves the numbers and that it matters. They definitely got it after watching them dismantle a pretty hot Bama squad. The guy makes you either want to run through or jump over that dreaded brick wall.

Never a good look when you misspell the word moron when calling someone a moron.

Big 4 Sal-

Cmon man...i love your optimism and you may be proven right in the year 2030 or so!! So many on here still kick ole Dale at times.

What he accomplished at LSU is simply incredible and hasn't even come close to being matched, nit only here but at SOOOO many other programs!

2 Final Fours losing to the champs each time and I think (fact check me here) but has an incredible 18-13 in the NCAA Tournament! I just touted CWW as possibly the best coach in America, but he a Grand Total of 0 WINS in the NCAAT

Cmon kid!!!!

I love Will and the fact that he’s accepted all the algorithms, figured it out, and knows how to manipulate the numbers. But I think the whole thing is crap for college basketball. You play...to win...the game. Hello!!

I understand the process usually yields results, but the college basketball regular season is almost irrelevant save for the bubble teams. Seeding matters little. Win, you move on. No extra credit for efficiency. You still just move to the next round. I like that Wade understands it, but I don’t like that head coaches are forced to coach to the NET and other similar rbitrary equations.

Agreed! Dale Brown was one of the greatest college basketball recruiters that existed, but he was a terrible coach. The guy had Shaq, Chris Brown, and Stanley Roberts(2 first rounds and a second round pick) for 4 yrs and couldn’t win a title. That’s a Sunday C’MON MAN....if one ever existed. But had great talent and was a genuinely nice guy, so everyone gave him a pass.
