His tenure is remembered by many for how it ended but he did do a lot for LSU those first three years and started bringing us out of the dark ages of 6 straight losing seasons. He was also responsible for a number of facilities improvements. I'd like to see him honored for the 20the anniversary of the 97 Florida game or something like that. He should not be lumped in with Hallman like some seem to.

So should he not be lumped in hallman just because Florida 97 or is there some other impressive feat he accomplished during that time?

I always think that the people honored during games should fall in one of two categories:
1) A connection with both schools, like Dietzel during the LSU-South Carolina game this year.
2) An incredible troll of the visiting team.

So yes, honor Dinardo during a Florida game.

He signed the most important recruit in the history of the program.

Ok, how about we just not recognize anyone. Saban gets enough recognition.

If you dont think Dinardo was an important part of revitalizing LSU, then i dont know what to tell you. I really do hope LSU one day recognizes him for his time here. He was no Curley Hallman

A state where all the previous top players were going to Miami, FSU, Tennessee, and Colorado.

If he publicly apologizes for the Tepper hire he can come during a Florida game but only if most of the team comes too.

He started convincing the great in state talent to come to LSU. Yeh he got stubborn at the end of his tenure but he left Saban with talent.

I went to a ton of games during the Dinardo era and I didn't waver. I guess I just don't like the idea of recognizing every coach just because they coached.

If its a quick welcome Coach Dinardo back to Tiger Stadium fine, but don't try to award him something just because. He went 4-7 and 2-8 in his 4th and 5th season before being fired. As soon as the team was all his recruits he went down hill to a record worse than before he came to LSU...

Didn't require much to be some what successful after Hallman. Tepper should be paying Dinardo some pension money.

DiNardo laid the foundation for which Saban built the house on. That first SEC team was loaded with talented DiNardo players.

Obviously, Gerry would have never gotten us to the next level, but he did help us get there by beginning the process of locking up our borders.
