If no COVID-19 vaccine is ready and available by the September 5th opener with UTSA, then will the game be played in Death Valley WITHOUT FANS?

Covid will literally be dead by football season. Death Valley will be loud.

no the season would then be moved to a November start or a February start (or possible Jan but that would mean too many cold games for most of the country)

FU. It's something to be concerned about. I'd rather no fans for a few games rather than the entire season being cancelled.

I'd love to see Texas managing the gamethe following week with no AC in their locker rooms. Hopefully the electrical outlets aren't working either, so even their fans don't work.

don’t know why the OP is getting downvoted.

I love college football more than anyone, but barring a magical cure, there won’t be any college football this fall.

Sorry guys, but it’s best to mentally prepare for that.

The 22 guys on the field would have to break social distancing guidelines just to play. Why shouldn’t the fans?

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith knows the resumption of college sporting events in venues without fans is an option amid the coronavirus pandemic, but he doesn't see how it would ensure the safety of those on the field or the court.

We don’t know that. At all. It’s just worst case scenario at this point and as we’ve seen with this virus it isn’t close to where worst case scenario said we’d be. So stop talking like this is absolute.

I think they start the season by only selling 1/3 of the seats. No band, no student section.

its my opinion, man. This is a message board. I’m not making national policy here.

But i’d bet every penny I own that there won’t be football this fall.

I don’t care if fans can’t go to the opener but if we can’t be in Tiger Stadium for Week 2 against Texas, I’m gonna be pissed.

I’d be interested to see actual betting odds on it...

-season played as scheduled
-delayed start
-moved to spring
-cancelled

Not a chance. A silent Death Valley is an oxymoron.

No fans, then no football. Without a vaccine, half the stadium will be empty anyway.

There has already been discussion about this. If students are not allowed to go back to college campuses, there will be no sports. They are students first. If there is football ( I believe there will be), there will be people in the stands. Will the season start on time? That is the huge question. I think the latest start to college football will be first weekend in October. If they can’t make that happen, then there might not be a football season for college.
