I feel like he did a pretty decent job this year considering what he has to work with.

You think being predictable until halfway through the season, when another coach tells you you are running the same thing every play, is a decent job?

And that's not a 100% certainty if the OL stinks it up in the Bowl and British Knight doesn't like what he sees there. (Or even in the Spring)

No. It's a 100% certainty, weirdo.

Freeman was set to come here until the final hour. That I'd on Woody.

What is the obsession with this? Highly doubtful this happens. Karl Scott, who replaced him at Minn. is probably going to UF, so in theory, Jones could get his old job back

Love to see him stay . Once Ed let him alone and stopped being "Ed" our defense played well. The effort vs Alabama was superb.

If not, best of luck to Coach Jones.

Dumb take of the day! Tell me you didn’t pay attention this year without telling me you didn’t pay attention this year.

The Oline greatly improved throughout the year in spite of mounting injuries. And Brad Davis didn’t even get the spring to work with those guys

Word is LSU is trying to bring in Terry Joseph from Texas to be the other DB coach. With House not known as a lights out recruiter, they are likely looking for a proven recruiter in that spot.

If that's the case it makes you wonder why they let Corey Raymond walk.

LSU was 60th in the nation in total defense.

No……. Kelly is cleaning “House”. Let the man tear it down and build it his way. The less of the old that remains, the better off it’ll be in the long run.

I can see Daronte shaking Kelly's hand, and moving on.

Jones has no tie to LSU, and no tie to Kelly. He's young, he took this job to further his career resume. He got a year's worth of DC here, and looked like he started to figure things out and trust his players at the end. He can take that elsewhere and build; back to the NFL as a position coach, or to another college program as a DC. I think NFL for now.

Going to a lesser college program is a step backwards for his career, so is taking a demotion here. Taking an NFL position (replace House??), and that's lateral with room to grow. Can go to a hot NFL defense, where the DC either steps down to retire or takes a HC job, and he moves up the ladder. He will make out ok.

I think Peetz on the other hand, his career is derailed. His best hope is to lock into a position coach job somewhere, otherwise back to being an analyst.

It's highly uncommon that you retain the guy you fired.

Maybe as an analyst...someone who isn't communicating with the players, etc.

But, I seriously, seriously doubt it.
