Venables will have a good plan and scheme to throw off timing, try to confuse JB in hiding coverages pre snap, and likely blitzing a lot.

He absolutely jacked with Tua last year and shutdown a good offense. There is lots of film to watch routes and for DBs to jump routes. We saw a couple of times with OU and almost intercepted JB.
Thankfully the DL from last year isn't there but they have talent. They get top recruiting on D every year.

So seeing what they did to Tua and Bama last year does concern me. But I have confidence in this offense and the never ending pressure it puts on D.

They will probably be near the best D we will see.Dabo and Venables will have them ready. But our offense will be ready.as well.

I'm more concerned about our D than their D.

They don’t have the d-line that gives them flexibility on the back end. Will have to pick their poison with stunts and bringing people like last night. Burrow is way better at adjusting than Fields and will find the open man. I’m more curious to see how Divinity being back adds to our blitz packages. Chaisson is playing his best ball too.

No. They are not the best defense or scheme. Kevin Steel had the best scheme because he had two first round picks on the Dline that could get pressure without blitzing. Clemson does not have that at all. When teams blitz Burrow heavy he is more accurate not less. Also, one thing people are not mentioning is that this OLINE will be the best that Clemson will see all year. This OLINE has gotten better and better and when they break down they seem to open lanes for burrow to escape. Fields and Dobbins ate that defense up all night long. Burrows and Clyde with the triplets about to open a can o whoop arse. Defensive coordinator be damned, he cannot block and tackle.

They gave up 500+ yards last night. OSU made allot of mistakes that could have easily put the game away. Dropped td in end zone, wide open screen pass could have walked in the end zone. Ran into the punter ended up a Clemson td. Osu seem like they moved the ball pretty effectively

OSU totally blew that game. If an offense with Fields can get 500 yards what will a real offense do to them.

They have a much weaker DL this year and that #24 is going to get completely abused.

If Dobbins didn’t have bricks for hands OSU beats Clemson by 2 TDs minimum.

AU, UGA, and Bama’s d are all better. However their O is pretty good. No better than Alabama though talent wise.

This....And I do not understand why no one is seeing this. Their Defense is not very good. They really havent been all year neither. Clemson does not scare me the slightest. I was more concerned about playing OSU. Clemson doesnt have the athletes as years past. And their schedule has padded alot of stats. Go look at Lawrence's stats when he played against decent defenses that stopped the run. He throws INTs alot.

Idk if they’re vastly more talented on D than some of the teams we’ve played,

They are not.

Venables is the best DC we’ve faced off against

Probably. But we are the very best offense he has had to coach against. Between E, Brady, and Burrow, I like our chances. A lot. Like really a lot. If I was the gambling type and not recovered I would take LSU giving the points.

Auburn and Georgia had the best D's. Auburn had NFL talent on the line, something Clemson doesn't have. Georgia had the pedigree and LSU quickly trashed it. Clemson is below Georgia, LSU will probably take a few drives to get a hold of them and then absolutely trash them too.

It’s not even going to be fair to watch what the LSU offense is going to do against those slow white boys on Clemson’s defense.

LSU by 20.

I was wondering this too and was looking at the total offenses they have played.

Obviously Ohio State last night is ranked 5th in total offense as of this morning.

North Carolina came in at 12th.

Wake Forrest 15th

Boston College 25th

We both played Texas A&M and they beat the aggies 24-10

Also , when OSU didn’t sub Clemson was lost. It’s a great match up for us. Hell Herbie was begging his bucks to go back to attacking

Clemson blitzed a lot and OSU qb play was not that great. Divinity is coming for #16. Joe beats the blitz and Clemson is in trouble.

Best defense? No IMO

Best DC that adjusts really well? Yes

I think Auburn had the best defense we played this year.

They have as many highly rated recruits as anyone in the nation.
They are loaded with NFL guys just like bama and LSU. They will be tough. That being said, I’m not sure anyone can stop LSU.

They didn’t look too impressive against Ohio State last night and we’re going to let them score at the end if that WR didn’t run the wrong route.

Auburn had those 2 cats with single digit jersey #’s 3 and I think the other one was 6. Those 2 baws can flat out ball. Auburn had a D HOWEVER we left points on the field, went for it twice on 4th and inches and got stuffed right at the goal line both times. SEC defense’s are just bigger and faster to me.
