I do not see Clemson having ANY answers for the LSU offense. None.

Most of us thought this last year against Bama, but they held that offense to 16.

We all thought it would be a shootout and they shut down Tua/Jeudy/Ruggs/Smith/Waddle/Jacobs... No one had stopped them all year either. Hell we probably did the best job “only” giving up 29.

That’s what scares me.

NFL DL. They had 3 DL go first round and the other went in the 4th. They didn't really stop the receivers, more like disrupt Tua.

LSU's offense this year is more potent than Bama's was last year. They didn't slow down Ohio St either. Dobbins did what he wanted on the ground, and Ohio St's own players stopped them in the pass game (drops by Dobbins, bad int by Fields, Olave slipping on his route for the final pass/int.

Unless LSU just plays their worst game, Clemson loses by multiple TDs.

Y'all will move the ball too, but its the endzone that counts.

I think Auburn is an apt comparison. if we hold y'all to 23, we will outscore you and win the ballgame. This is what i think is the most likely thing to happen.

Actually, i think y'all score more than 23 - something like 30.

But we score more and win by a TD.

Yeah and it worked out fine for us. Bend but don't break. grind out the victory. you win the yardage game and we win the score game.

I'm cool with that.

That d line is in the NFL now. Its not remotely the same. They’re awesome-no doubt- but not the same.

Big Differences from last year to this year.

1. Not the same D personnel for Clemson, especially on the DLine.

2. Bama was not good in the Red Zone all season last year. It really bit them in the Championship Game. We are in the top 3 in the red zone offense, with mostly TD's.

3. Venables found a tell in Tua that he made his reads pre-snap. Burrow does not do this, and in fact, often hits his 3rd or 4th option, sometimes 5th with CEH. Good Luck.

4. LSU's offense is so multi-dimensional that no one has shown to have all the players to stop it. It isn't one or maybe two receivers. It's a back with well over 1,000 yds rushing with another 500 or so receiving, 3 stud WR's, an NFL TE and the most accurate QB in history.

5. LSU D is healthy, really good against the run, and has held every QB below 60% passing on the year. Over the past 3 games we are #2 in the country in total yds allowed.

This is not last year. Clemson is well coached and has the heart of a champion. But, if LSU plays its normal game, we will win by 2 tds or more.

Clemson's schedule is very weak. Not saying Clemson isn't a damn good football team. I'm only pointing out that their schedule explains their #1 Defensive ranking. I suspect that had LSU played the same schedule they would have similarly gaudy numbers.

CLEMSON DEFENSIVE YARDS ALLOWED
Game 1 - Total 294 Passing 137 Rushing 157 - Ga. Tech
Game 2 - Total 289 Passing 236 Rushing 53 - Texas A&M
Game 3 - Total 187 Passing 172 Rushing 15 - Syracuse
Game 4 - Total 216 Passing 63 Rushing 153 - Charlotte
Game 5 - Total 290 Passing 144 Rushing 146 - North Carolina
Game 6 - Total 253 Passing 150 Rushing 103 - Florida St.
Game 7 - Total 263 Passing 107 Rushing 156 - Louisville
Game 8 - Total 177 Passing 80 Rushing 97 - Boston College
Game 9 - Total 256 Passing 117 Rushing 139 - Wofford
Game 10 - Total 290 Passing 166 Rushing 124 - NC State
Game 11 - Total 105 Passing 41 Rushing 64 - Wake Forrest
Game 12 - Total 174 Passing 105 Rushing 69 - South Carolina
Game 13 - Total 387 Passing 283 Rushing 104 - Virginia
Game 14 - Total 516 Passing 320 Rushing 196 - Ohio St.

I’ve got news for overconfident LSU fans: LSU may have to punt a few times.
