Camp caught on fire in NW Miss and the kid died. He was only 16. Wills brother was there also but made it out alive. Prayers for him and the family.

Jesus Christ. How does that happen? I feel like at 16 that you would be able to get out of almost any fire situation inside a house. Terrible news

You can get out of the house if it doesn’t occur when you are sleeping or overcome by toxic fumes

Most people who die in fires have succumbed to smoke inhalation long before they are burned.

Probably smoke inhalation. Can catch you while asleep or cant find your way our if you are at zero visibility

A wood burning stove can take a house down quick.

Yup.

Smoke inhalation includes carbon monoxide and other chemicals that reduce the amount of oxygen the body gets. If you're asleep when it starts, you probably won't wake up.

There was not an explosion, my bad. The bottom rusted out of a wood burning stove while the kids were asleep. The survivors escaped through the window and the deceased was sleeping closest to the stove.
