And he's still a projected draft pick. Just doesn't fit into Les' junior high school offense.

He is projected as the 41st WR in the draft. With 7 rounds of 32 picks, if a WR is taken every 6 1/2 picks he would be drafted.

Rosetta hinted at some reason but was not ready to divulge why
Have no idea, could it be Willie Lyles related?
Ineligible for some reason and that's why Miles kept him out of some games

maybe because the coaching staff knows a bit more than a bunch of fans who have never coached, played or been a part of a program above jr high

I love how you hate on players and fantasize about a love-life with Miles

He didn't have a ton of success here for four reasons:
1. He never belonged here b/c he's a dual-threat QB and Les was NEVER going to play him there.
2. He wasn't given many handoffs despite his good YPC (even though it was predictable every time he got the ball) b/c Les has a certain idea of what a RB is and Shep doesn't fit it.
3. He's not a natural WR.
4. He's not as fast as people think he is.

Not arguing against any of this.

He was suspended the first 3 games of last season for that, so no.

He played in every game this year so he wasnt suspended at all. Sometimes it was just on special teams(like in the bowl game).

So Shep is worth all the love as a football player?

can you tell me where he was any good other than an end-around?

So you criticize a players work ethic from behind a computer screen with no cred whatsoever from what I can see and you ridicule me....you are a damn idiot. You are probably a fat frick behind a computer screen watching games on TV from your double wide in Arcadia, LA. I hope your life goes great.

What did he do to deserve PT?

Not much (although YPC does speak for something) but what did he do to deserve your disdain from behind a computer screen? Have you walked up to him after a game and told him about your problem with your perception of his work ethic?

Glad you posted this.
You know who else saw him throw?
Les Miles, who then offered him a scholarship as a QB.
So either Les can't judge throwing ability or lied to get Shep to come here.
Or maybe Shep actually can throw well enough to be a college QB and just struggled in the couple of months he practiced there.

He is worth love because he was a tiger. Any player who is on the team deserves support. That is a fan. Not just criticizing someone because they chose LSU and worked his arse off 4 years.

He was told that he'd be given a chance to compete at QB.

He was given that chance and he wasn't good enough.

He switched positions.

...and if you think coaches don't lie in recruiting, then......well...

No. You said that his talent was wasted.

We're talking football, like you did in the OP. Not his character.

So, as a WR or a RB, who do you think Russell Shepard should be playing over and why?

He didn't suck as a runner. His stats for every year he was here prove it.

He averaged 8 yards per touch this year and almost broke a TD against Bama where he averaged 7+ as well on his three little touches.

I'm not saying he was a world beater and didn't mess up, but his talent was worth more touches (especially in these PATHETIC offensive bowl performances while he was at LSU).

Same thing happened to Rueben Randle in the NCG last year. He was a "non-factor" due to not being thrown to, and a QB who couldn't get him the ball.

Did anyone else see the over the db TD catch he made last week for the New York Giants who love him and are using him to his fullest. Eli, knows to just throw it up to a 6'3" WR and let him make a play and he did!

WOW!

Disagree. He went down too easy.

His runs were 1, 2, 2, 2, 1, -3, 1, 49. Of course his YPC is going to be high.

You're a moron. The guy averaged 7 yards a play during his career.

We are not talking about letting a guy think he can play as a freshman when you plan to redshirt him. Convincing a guy who dedicated the time and effort Shep did into playing QB that he can play QB here when you actually would never even consider playing that type of QB is just low. Certainly not the act of a "man of integrity".
