How are you going to lose one of them by redshirting nuss?

If you push back Nuss you could have Walker Howard sitting for 3 years. It’s highly doubtful he’ll do that. He’s a better prospect than Nuss, he was better than Nuss in HS despite being a year behind him and is a very advanced QB in terms of understanding how to play the position in the mold of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. If Walker jumps Nuss at some point you’ll lose Nuss to transfer so either way pushing Nuss back a year is gonna make it hard to keep both players.

You are dreaming if you think Walker has a higher football IQ than Nuss. Nuss played at the highest level in Texas. His Ex-Pro NFL QB dad now coaching Dallas QB Dak Prescott has been teaching him the position & reading defenses since he could hold a football. He’s the real deal.

So we shouldn't redshirt Nussmeier because Howard may be better than him, jump him, and then Nussmeier may transfer?

Or we shouldn't redshirt Nussmeier because Howard may not be better than him, won't be able to beat him out within 3 years, and then Howard will transfer?

Redshirt or no, Nussmeier has 3 years of eligibility remaining so I don't see how that's a factor in Howard's decision making. Or Nussmeier plays so well the next two years that he leaves early. At which point it's irrelevant whether or not he redshirts this year.

The only downside is possible either way. Which is neither of them is good enough to beat out the other.

The next game is at Alabama. You do not want him to make his first start at Alabama

The RS doesnt really matter if he’s the future of LSU football then let him play as much as possible. But you don’t give a guy his first start on the road against Bama

Had a good game against Florida? I guess if you mean handing the ball off well.

You obviously didn’t watch them play in HS and don’t know much about Walker Howard. Everything you said could he said about Max Johnson but we see he’s fundamentally a bad QB who plays like he’s in the backyard instead of someone who’s dad was a Super Bowl winning QB and uncle has coached a lot of excellent college QBs. Nuss can be “the real deal” but Howard is going to be better,

If it was anyone but Bama I might agree with starting him.

So he is the better qb but will have to wait 3 years?

Nuss redshirting or not isnt going to matter in the long run.

Whoever loses the job will transfer.

I understand what you are saying but what I think baws are missing on ...... Isn't Bama's QB a freshman and didn't Saban throw him in for his first start? This would be one freshman vs another.

Why start Nuss at Bama?

Start Max. When you get down 2-3 TDs, put Nuss in when he’s not under pressure to do the impossible.

Bryce Young is a sophomore. He only played in mop up duty last season.
