Harvey is NOT a Bengal Tiger.

Roscoe didn't like GameDay...Harvey was never given a chance. But I am cool with NOT stressing out big cats.

I’m far from being a PETA member, but Mike is a living animal and the game day environment consists of elements that are incredibly frightening for an animal that’s incapable of understanding what’s going on.

Why does this always come up? Why is is never good enough that we have a live fricking tiger in a state-of-the-art enclosure on campus?

fricking child lol

I've never been able to fully reconcile while other schools can have their live animal mascots out there, but not ours.

The only thing I can think of is we keep ours in a cage, while everyone else has theirs in open air. Probably also has to do with the endangered species that is the Bengal Tiger.

You answered your own damn question.

Probably because it is bad for Mike's health and luckily more people care more about that than this stupid trope. People need to let it the frick go.

My pitch would be to film a pregame clip for major home games where Mike fricks up a tasty effigy of the opposing mascot. Just a more exciting version of the meal-art tradition they have now that gives us some action shots.

you can't see the fricking animal through the expanded metal on the trailer they haul him around in. You could put a stuffed animal in there and no one would know the difference.

And the alter who made this thread probably has tickets at the top of the endzone, so his stupid arse couldn't see anything anyway.

Fuk PETA & fuk you goofy PETA retards.
I’m not for harming animals but taking Mike around the field doesn’t harm him in any way.

I also enjoy a good steak and grilled Tuna.
So go chew on some bark and Tofu.

I don't know if LSU followed through with getting sanctuary status with the tiger habitat. But if they want to pursue/keep any hopes of being a sanctuary (likely the only way to get another Mike), they can't bring him into the stadium.

How do they get him to the Vet School when needed?

There is no rule keeping this from happening. Its an LSU decision. Lout crowds and fireworks are rough on a tiger.

He's a cool enough mascot in his habitat. He's the coolest mascot in the country.

It has ZERO to do with PETA, that Mike is no longer paraded through the stadium. It has to do with his vet and our Vet School deciding that is what is best for the animal.

Mike is just fine where he is daily.
