Yeah but he gave him a massive raise.

That’s a head scratcher. I thought Pelini would be a low ceiling high floor stop gap. Definitely not worth his salary though.

Orgeron has accomplished more than 99% of cfb coaches. He deserves every cent he is paid.

Woodward better NOT replace WW unless WW gets a show clause.

What did his previous contract say? Who put it together?

Orgeron selects his staff. If you paid Aranda 2.3 and your budget was 2.5, then you likely thought about raises over that contract period. Do you actually know what Bo made last season between Nebraska and Youngstown?

This season is a disappointment for everyone but take your blind O-hating BS elsewhere. You were wrong then and you’re still wrong now. And you’re a complete moron.

Miles won a title and had an undefeated SEC championship season. Had there been a playoff or some sort of system that was fair, then he accomplishes more than even more than what you’re spewing as being once in a lifetime. Except the fact Miles was idiot that should have been fired after 2008. Will history repeat itself? Likely because of people who think short term and ignore the glaring lack of skills for long term success. Orgeron, while he may be a good guy, will not even achieve what Miles did by playing for a second title. In fact, he will be fired at the end of 2021 by Woodward because he didn’t hire him and his leverage will be gone after 2 seasons of abomination. If the economy tanks and revenue continues to decline, lack of ticket sales for a shitty program will be out squarely on Orgeron. Deservedly so.

Guy is worse than Alleva

That can’t be. Woodward was going to castrate compliance; improve concessions; improve parking/traffic; lay the law down to Mainieri; build a new hoops arena; make the NCAA bend to his will regarding Wade and cure cancer!

The reality is Alleva was smarter than Woodward. Being stuck with an average coach like Jimbo for 10 years is way worse than the contract he gave to O.

Jimbo was the biggest fish available when aTm hired him. There was no way to know a national championship coach couldn’t right their ship

Scott is much better than Alleva. Jimbos contract might suck but Scott did a lot of great things in terms of Facilities and other sports

One thing Scott has done better than Joe is bringing in talented admins to the LSU Admin building. Joe maintained the status quo from Skip far too long. New ideas tended to die on the vine as the effort was to “keep doing what we’ve always done”

I attend a conference every year where the LSU AD speaks. Joe Alleva spoke 5 times in front of me and his speech was literally the same every year. It got to be a running joke within our group

Scott’s group rejects that philosophy and is literally rebuilding the administration into a more modernized and efficient group. COVID really F’d those efforts though

His philosophy is pay to get the guy you want. Problem is O picked the wrong guy....so far.

Extreme overpay but the money train was going 200 mph in January.

Except to Joe Brady. He should have given Brady an offer he couldn't refuse. And should have had it signed, sealed, and delivered in the week after the Bama game.

for a single year, yes, O accomplished it all.

But that's just one year. Sometimes the stars align, even for bad coaches, and that may be what happened with Burrow and Brady.

In other words, a coach can have a great year, but that doesn't necessarily make him a great coach (see Chizik, Coker, etc).

If you follow up 2019 with a few terrible years, then 2019 will be shown to be an outlier. Now if O follows up 2019 with stellar years, then I can admit he's built a great PROGRAM.

But for now, 2019 may just be an anomaly.

Yeah I pointed out his disaster contract to Jimbo and LSU fans seriously responded by saying it was intentional to hurt the Aggies. I was downvoted into oblivion by morons on here that are so delusional that they can't see something so obvious.

Buzz Williams with Aggy bball has sucked so far too. Woody just throws money at well-known coaches to make "splash" hires. Alleva spent a ton on assistants instead. Arkansas is doing that now with Pittman. Woodward's approach worked at Washington bc Petersen is a Saban-type monomaniac with extensive HC and OC experience; Orgeron is not, I think he will right the ship, but he needs tons of offensive assistants

I did have high hopes for Woody. There was talk when he came in would be massive changes. He hasn't done anything.

He had opportunity to gut compliance department. Instead they are still hindering the dept and no budget cuts to them.

Infrarmark. Had opportunity to fix it and improve. Or get out of horrendous contract like many other places have done.

Women's basketball. Hasn't don't anything or aknowledged there is a problem.

There was much talk that he would bring back tailgating to the common fan and get it cranked up again. Had perfect opportunity for 2019 season and instead fewer parking spots available for average fan and more restrictions.

Then Pelini hire contract. WTF

Because 1. That’s not even a lot for a DC and 2. We can’t be giving guys 1 year contracts. fricking O needs to pick the right guys because this is relatively standard.

Please explain to me how he was going to offer Brady an NFL OC spot at LSU?

Even if they got rid of E and gave Brady the reigns completely that still doesn’t compete with an NFL OC position that he left LSU for.

Look, I agree O was overpaid but I can at least understand that contract. (Frankly O should make less because his binder says pay me less = pay coordinators more.) Pelini, there is Zero excuse for that salary. Zero. Woodward is senile. No DC that isn't a current top 5 DC should be making that much from year 1 at any school. Obviously wouldn't happen but if we poached Venables then I could completely understand a big DC salary. That is an exception no doubt. Anyone else? frick no. And a buyout that large?

Even worse, Woodward sold out to the mob and BLM and allowed them to hang the political Marxist banners on LSU Athletic Monuments like Tiger Stadium.

He should be the first one fired.

Your signature seemed to indicate you were no longer an LSU fan because the BLM Marxist, rioting terrorists had taken over LSU. My thought was good fricking riddance. Hallelujah! The less racist MFers in LSU fan base the better. Yet here you are.

Woody is only getting a pass because he’s “one of us” and everyone hated Alleva
