there is a signing deadline.
if you don’t sign by that date, you’re eligible to come back (assuming you still meet all other eligibility requirements)
returning players are just like the high school kids in that regard.

He went to an independent league then was drafted again the following year

Busy chewing his nails off. MLB doesn't want this

I thought that was just for the first time a player is eligible to be drafted.
I thought that it was different the second time the player is drafted.
so youre saying.... that if I got picked in the 10th round out of high school and I decided to come to lsu instead of sign with a pro team, then If I got picked my junior year in the 8th round I could decide to come back to school for my senior year and then I could be drafted again and go to the minors?
Yes

His bat skills are feast or famine and that’s not him.
He’s walked more than he has K’d over 3 seasons vs top competition. You will be hard pressed to find many other former Tigers that have done that over an 800 plate appearance sample size.
I’m not saying he will win a batting title but on the most basic level, his bat to ball skills are very solid.

Who knows what will happen on draft day but but from what I’m hearing is don’t be surprised if Milam isn’t drafted. That would surprise me

You're just STTDB LSU homer. You got to be able to look at the team objectively and call a spade a spade.

And this is something that the regular fan doesn’t know

His total ABs are solid but his hits recorded are not. By feast or famine I mean he tries to rocket launch a lot instead of put balls in the gap and on the ground. He does get on base quite a lot though and I won’t argue that. My point is that he needs to be elite where others players can be average if he is ever going to get a shot. The bigs are going to see him as a risk not worth the reward for a guy that walks a lot in college. I’m not saying he can’t get there or that he shouldn’t. I’m just saying he doesn’t have the bat at this time to overcome his stature and his base running is bad. Although his glove is more than elite. I like him as a player and I’d love for him to make it. Selfishly I hope he sticks around and works on those things to become a better big league prospect.
