Paul Mainieri is in charge. He is the CEO. He is responsible for recruits, hiring competent coaches and the teaching of the game. He is responsible for the cleanliness of the bathrooms at Alex Box. He is responsible for every blade of grass that is out of place in Skip Bertman field.

If the team fails, he fails. No other options. He recruits each individual that has the honor of wearing a LSU uniform. If these kids don’t understand that honor then Mainieri needs to convey that message promptly.

This is LSU Baseball ! Not TCU or Missouri State.

Kids commit to play because it’s LSU not for Maneiri! Most players on the team can’t stand him and are ready to leave ASAP. Paul IS the reason the team has underperformed and will continue to hinder any progression of the program.

This is first hand knowledge from parents of the players!

Cause he gets paid a shitload of money to manage team. He does nothing else. He doesn't recruit or coach.

LSU will be ok. The rain delay turned the series around for TN. We would have won the series if not for the delay. Even then, all 3 games were lost by a total of 4 runs.

OP being a sore loser with the downvote. Shocker.

If you mean to say “We will be mediocre” by what you are saying then I’ll agree with you.

That’s the best CPM will do going forward with this team.

How did the rain delay cause LSU to lose Game 3 today?

At LSU, sure. Before you blame the players... who’s job is it to recruit them and get them ready to play?

If that's the case, Hey LSU I'm available to coach the team for 10% of what you pay Paul. Let me know if interested.

You can’t recruit though. That’s the difference.

It’s kind of like people overpaying big actors for commercials. Anyone can do it but sometimes having the big name draws people in.

So true. They decide who is on the team, design practice for them, evaluate them and decide which ones start, decide the order of the line up, decide what the pitching rotation will be, decide when to pull a pitcher and who to replace them with, decide when to put in a pinch hitter, decide when to call a bunt, decide when to call a hit and run and they motivate them. They also choose the assistant coaches. But beyond all of that really have zero impact on the game and it’s absolutely unfair to judge them by how the players perform and on wins and losses.

This is correct
There are coaches who are paid and / or volunteer to coach the players
When those coaches aren’t getting their job done it falls on the head coach

Then who is to blame for other teams having better players? Are we being out-recruited? Or out-coached?
