I think whenever we consider a new coach from now on we need to look at their record vs ranked teams.

Name 3. Seriously. I remember the choices on the table when we hired Kelly. There were no better candidates then. None now.

Who would you rather have? A name.

Because he’s much better at his job!

Elko coached circles around Kelly last night.

The 1st half says otherwise.

Elko was desperate and totally lucked his way into that W with the change at QB.

As for Nuss shitting the bed, well, it was a concern all year. Hell, he should have thrown two picks last week. You can coach him up, but, ultimately…players play. Nuss chose poorly (and repeatedly).

No matter what though, we had no answer for a mobile QB.

That IS on coaching.

BK is still a legit, top tier coach.

Last night was a shite storm of poor execution.

It happens.

Nothing screams coaching is fine like the inability to scheme a running game

And in light of that was still able to coach the offense up to one of the best in the conference and is now only in 2nd place.

Not to mention that cluster frick of time management at the end of the half

You mean when Nuss was obviously hurt? And we had full control of the game. On the road. Up by multiple scores?

We are well on our way to another 3 or 4 loss season.

That’s the exact response I’d expect. Playing not to lose, like a pussy

let's not act like that was the only adjustment

There were plenty of adjustments on defense that led to Nuss being confused half the dang time during the second half

Why are you changing what people are discussing? Who said anything about last year?

I’m not changing anything. When the op said “still” he implied comparison to something previous. And since the defense has been night and day improved from last year, it’s a safe assumption that that is what he was referring too. Add that to the other idiotic shite he said, and it’s HARDLY a stretch.

quote:

People crowned Baker THIS year far too early, was the point of that comment

That’s some linguistic gymnastics if I’ve ever seen it. Baker THIS year is much better and the defense has improved every week and turned into a solid unit.Nobody has “crowned” him anything. They had a bad quarter and a half last night when Elko flipped the game plan upside down. That doesn’t negate how they have played to this point.

Going to a backup QB was a desperation move. It worked out GREAT for A&M, but if their staff had any inkling of that kind of impact, he would have started.

As for this:

quote:

There were many adjustments.

Nuss was baited, and Nuss chose poorly. He also missed badly on quite a few throws (amped up?).

Him doing what we saw in the second half was a concern going into the season.

Such is life.

Last nights loss revolved around two things:

-dumb luck for A&M

and

-a shite performance of unforced errors by LSU

10-2 or 9-3 is still my prediction

Yeah let’s give Elko all the praise like he a genius when he literally has been playing a garbage QB all year almost losing several games to shitty teams. Of course he finally figures out Weigman is hot garbage against us, which we prepared to play against for weeks I’m sure. Now that the strategy to destroy our defense is out there, we best prepare on how to stop the read option. Watched the RB getting tackled last night with a safety standing there waiting on the QB to see what he was gonna do, then not make the play, you don’t wait you tackle the QB.

Because it’s logical in that situation. Glad we agree.

And if we’d have turned it over or sustained a key injury, I have no doubt you and a hundred other idiots would have been on here bitching about Kelly being an idiot for trying to force it with an injured QB with a 2 score lead on the road.

Piss off, kid.

3-7 vs top 25 teams over three years at LSU isn’t terribly hard to match. That’s including all the games with Jayden. Throw a dart and you’ll find a coach that can do that.

We fricked up big time hiring Kelly’s initial defensive staff. It set the process back by at least a year.

Have you looked around college football and see the rise and fall of programs?

LSU is not the 2000s patriots franchise. We are not immune to losing seasons yet we are consistently wining again.
