Who cares if he was just using LSU for more money and was always going to go Texas. LSU should have raised the price up as much as possible to make Texas pay more money to get Herman. They were already paying a ton for Strong's buyout. Instead we gracefully bowed out and gave Herman to Texas at the cheapest price. We did Texas a favor. Then as quick as possible we hired a washed up shrimp boat captain because LSU was worried about their image?!? How is that working out now.

The firing and hiring process has to be the absolute worst in LSU history. It was done by a freaking amateur.

Because we’d rather put a 12 million dollar buyout on O

Because he wanted to go to UT. And we would lose a bidding war with them. Stop being dumb

Thank god. I would hate for Nichols or South Alabama to steal Coach O.

Texas would have buried LSU in a bidding war...people in LA just cant fathom the amount of money that props up UT athletics

We could have offered him 12 mill in year one and it would have likely been a cheaper option and we would eveb have a ST coach.

its basic managing 101

if you're forced to compete for your top candidate, you immediately hang up the phone, and hire a much, much shittier candidate. One that has no business in even being up for the job.

Texas thanks Alleva for being stupid and not forcing them to raise up their offer to Herman.

If you have any questions at all about the coaching "search" of 2016 you should assume the answer is "Because Joe Alleva is a complete dumbass" and then look for evidence to the contrary.

You have no fricking clue as to the economics of College football. At LSU, Nick Saban was the highest paid college coach in the country. If LSU wanted to make a largely unproven head coach the highest paid in the country, LSU could have done so and competed with anyone to do it.

You fricking Texans (all of you) are the most unrealistic arrogant douche bags on the planet for no reason what so ever. Let me break it to you, you ain't big, you ain't bad and you ain't tough, so go sit down and shut up.

B/C he just lost to kansas.....

LSU athletic department is a joke and follows the wims of this board(Canada hire...sad really)and flavor of th month couches spouted by the media.

The athletic department would be stupid enough to get into a bidding war insread of putting in some work and finding an up and coming talent.
