well, GSU played Clemson last year who won a natty, they played Auburn 2 years ago who won the west that year beating UGA and Bama, Bama played the Citadel last year who runs the triple option, Oklahoma played Army last year, do you need any more examples?

OP. What are your thoughts on the schedule now? Please advise

Paid Troy 985k in 2017.
Georgia Southern 925k for this weekend.

Someone did not pay enough to guarantee the win.

So every P5 team that schedules a triple option opponent is scheduling incorrectly and/or non-strategically? Am I accurately describing your position?

My position is pretty clear.

Very strategic thought should go into scheduling. This would include a warmup game, placement of difficult games, SOS, athlete mental and physical fatigue, etc.

I'll say it again, and it isn't popular amongst a subset of fans, but scheduling the right opponents goes a long way into developing younger players, allowing injuries to heal, fighting fatigue, etc. Alabama rarely plays anyone outside of conference and there's a reason why.

That's what happens when you have an athletic director like Alleva. His cancerous legacy will stain the program for a couple more years until Woodward's impact fully takes grasp.
Holy shite. Dont even know where to start with this. You do realize that Verge handles this and not alleva? Even when he was A.D.

say what???

Alabama typically plays a very good opponent the first game of the year. Since 2007, they've played USC, Penn State (twice), Clemson, FLorida State (twice), Wisconsin, Michigan, Va Tech, West Virginia, etc.

Jeez, it's like you don't even follow college football.

going into halftime up 31-3.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been so mad after a win as I was after that game. Even though we came back and won handily, it still felt like a loss.
Another 9pt wim feels like a 3pt loss post

About 2 minute mark each game 2008 was winning by 9, and 2017 down by 10.

Every starter for LSU is better than the starter for GSU. You don’t really think LSU has been spending all summer preparing for GSU without looking at Texas, do you?

And who was Verge's boss? Alleva

If you think Alleva had zero input once so ever in scheduling games then you're wrong. Is Verge over the scheduling? Yes, but don't tell me Alleva isn't somewhat involved in working with Verge in the scheduling. No one has that much autonomy in making decisions like that.

I can’t think of any any P5 school would willingly play a team like this. Straight from O’s mouth, they’ve been working on defending this specific offense which is taking away from Texas prep, on which is what we should have already been focusing.

I don’t know why O would say that. Tom Herman runs an offense that has some similarities to the triple option.

Because they’re an easy team to beat.

LSU defenders are foaming at the mouth to play these guys.

It’s going to be the most fun they’ll have all year.

I’m just here to point out that they weren’t a triple option team when we scheduled them, so the entire premise of this thread is kind of.. well.. stupid.

Carry on.

I'm not trying to be an arse but I can't help it, you really need to quit posting about college football if you think this...

Dude, every team in the sec plays the same amount of non conference games every year.

Every conference plays the same amount of conference games as there conference peers. I mean what are you even talking about.
