Don't be surprised if he doesn't bring him back, given the Krags situation.

Possibly because he wasn't ready to be a coordinator, and possibly because Monken looks like Rodney Carrington.

Because at the time, Crowton looked like a home run hire.

Monken's limited resume at the time. Miles knew that he had a team that would make a run and he needed someone like Pelini, an experienced heavyweight choice, to balance out the staff.

Given that he hired a guy who helped us win a Natl title, miles did okay. Still, it would have been interesting had he went in another direction.

Has bad as the offenses got when he was required to train up relatively subpar talent.....the 2007 season's title was worth it.

Ive been a big Monken fan ever since I heard he called the 2006 sugar bowl. I wanted him this past OC search but that woulda required some staff reshuffling because hes not a qb coach unfortunately. The guy knows his stuff and is a Miles guy. He followed Miles from Okie state to here so you know they have similar philosophies and mutual respect....If the recievers dont improve I wouldnt mind BG moving on bringing him in keeping krags as qb coach...

Monken wants to be a HC. He has been in the running for a number of jobs. He'll get one...soon. Memphis is looking like it might be open from all I hear from fans.
