Give it a week.

In a week we play the SEC bottom feeder.

The team will automatically look "Improved" because of the competition.

If the Tigers can't go out and blow Vandy away, then there is a real problem.........

To me if we had a better QB this team wouldn’t be as bad

Saahdiq Charles this past year.

Ed Alexander the year before.

This year Kary Vincent and Tyler Shelvin (they aren't opting out for COVID).

I see both sides. This is not as bad as watching Les Miles' players with 6th round grades routinely opt out. But it is also true that for some reason, Dabo, Ryan Day and Saban are able to not only keep their developing talent that can play their way up in the draft, but also convince guys with 1st or 2nd round grades to come back.

Proving the Culture problem and what were their draft grades?

Again I’ll ask you, who are these guys with low round grades leaving under O

Under O, just off the top of my head on declaring early and going UDFA...

Thad Moss UDFA
Kevin Toliver UDFA
Toby Weathersby UDFA
Ed Alexander UDFA
Will Clapp Last pick
Russell Gage? cant remember is he was a junior..think he was a 6rd guy.

I'd have to look up on 2017, had a few beers since then...that's not looking at 5th round or lower...but you get the point. You actually helped with your "re-recruiting" post...the fact they had to be re-recruited is troubling.

I am Sure if Thad Moss knew he had a foot injury that would end his rookie season before the combine he might have come back.

But that’s a lot of hindsight.

How does that prove a culture problem when they came back? Dude that makes no sense.

Do you not think Clemson & Bama has these conversations every year?

The fact you can’t make the connection, denying it bc of those guys, while ignoring ‘18, ‘17, ‘16, ‘15 etc ..And Coming from a guy that he and Bencoleman argued the offense scheme was fine in 2018 All of us suggesting Scheme were WRONG, didn't know football. Think you made that same play earlier today

Honestly we lost too much before recruiting caught up.

2017 and 2018 class are barely here anymore.

2019 and 2020 are still really green.

Plus the actual total we were
Missing Saturday.
Chase, Jefferson, CEH, Burrow, Charles, Magee, Cush, Lewis, Moss
Stingley, Fulton, Vincent, Chaisson, Queen, Phillips, Lawrence, Tyler, Logan, Divinity

Sullivan, Dillon, Fehoko, Traore in our 2 deep.

Missing 18 starters. 4 more backups.

Lawrence, Phillips, & Burrow didn't have any eligibility left.

For starters, we can't retain some really good players like the others do.
We need continuity on the staff big time. The oc is in question as is the DC.
No resemblance to last years schemes on both sides of the ball.

I agree with a lot of the stuff you said but it was very possible that Gilbert would’ve still beat out Moss anyways this offseason

2018 class. Look it up. That’s why we didn’t reload.

This! Also, we lost 24 guys to NFL rosters or soon to be. Among seniors, juniors leaving early, players sitting out and last minute injuries, it was an unprecedented exodus. No team in history has had to deal with this. How in the hell did you think this team was going to be competitive?

LSU has a ton of talent. By the middle of the season they might be fairly good. Next year we should be extremely good, with a veteran team and a returning QB.

The simple answer is Bama has a long tenured coach that has stacked top 3 recruiting classes together for a decade

LSU is working on like 2 in a row

I know you're loyal to Ed but this is a bit disingenuous

You do realize LSU had more draft picks than like every other school sans Bama the last 15 or so years, right? Perhaps offensive style and QB recruiting deserved criticism, but not recruiting.

Just look at last year's team -- it was largely stacked with Miles' recruits. If anything, Ed's first class was the disaster to break the talent chain.

Probably because we lost almost an entire recruiting class to the NFL. Has to have an impact. I'll be happy with 7 wins this year, especially if we're competitive like Saturday. no shame in losing to a top tier SEC team with a chance to win in the 4th.

Lets see how LSU looks against Vandy and Missouri. Win big in both and we can roll into Gainsville with some confidence. But losing to State means you gotta beat at least 2 of Fla, Bama, A&M, Auburn.

Nice troll.

We have 15 guys playing in the NFL yesterday that could have taken the field on Saturday.

LSU went thru a coaching change, and part of the reason for that had to do with roster construction.

WR, LB, OL & DL.

Will Clapp & Russell Gage are fine but these aren’t the type of draft picks that makes LSU who they are when they are on top

That 17’ class was stacked. I did the math once & I think Miles landed 65% or so of that class.

Ed’s true first class brought the schools best QB & WR in its history. Disaster is an interesting word for that. Especially since that class will yield 5-6 more nfl players
