I wouldn’t hold your breath on a Henry, Marceaux, Hill rotation next year. If the reports are true that Hill has a strained UCL in his elbow then we may never see him pitch for LSU again. Teams always try to rest guys with strained UCLs but it never works and they always end up needing TJ surgery. If they would have gone ahead and done it early this year Hill would be back mid season next year but now if he needs it he’s gone for the entire season plus maybe half of his junior year too depending on how fast he recovers. I have no faith in our team doctors. Between Hill, Henry, Labas, Storz and Caleb Gilbert completely losing the feel of how to throw a baseball after a minor shoulder cleanup procedure something is wrong.

We sign kids that throw 102 but sign pro contracts almost every year. That’s why. And we don’t have much help in the pitching department next year because Pawl said we were ‘over loaded’. You know, the staff with no consistency and no left handed pitcher.

We will likely have at least 3 lefties on the pitching staff next year.

I didn’t see anyone say that.

He was getting outs, so he didn’t pull himself for the good of the team.

Jesus. This is a new low.

Really, this is so stupid. It’s not like Rocker had only two choices, LSU and Vandy, and he picked Vandy. All of college baseball wanted him and none of them got him either.
I’m not sure how good the Vandy Fanbase is but it’s certainly smarter than ours.

You would be shocked how few LSU fans realize this.

He outsources his recruiting. Acts more like a baseball manager than a teaching and motivating college coach.

Then why isn’t their football any better?

It's common sense really.
We have the same amount of scholarships that Vandy does in Football and it is much harder to qualify academically at Vandy than it is at Bama, LSU etc. Football traditionally has more problems qualifying players academically than baseball players.

Lets see there was this guy Aaron Nola that finished third in the Cy Young voting last year.

He’d have arm problems if he came to LSU. I think it’s the boudin or Dunn.

Outsourcing as in his staff? Crazy how many kids want to play at LSU with a head coach that doesn’t talk to them

Peter Pan could've been the HC, Nola was coming to LSU regardless.

I don't understand this. Why don't they have to follow NCAA regs?

How so? By having a recruiting coordinator do the legwork and data compilation on prospects?

They recruit guys who can qualify for academic scholarships. That doesn't count against the NCAA limits. Unlike football, Vandy Baseball doesn't have to relax academic standards, and they can recruit nationwide looking for the higher standard of athlete.

No doctor is going to perform that surgery if there is nothing structurally wrong. You dont think the coaches or Hill or his parents asked the doctors about that? Jesus the stuff you people believe is ridiculous when you want a coach fired.

You're *ahem* off base.

Vandy gives out "merit" scholarships that are not tied to academics. Their schollys can be for whatever they deem to be merit, such as a kid who excels in music, for example, or a kid who volunteers a lot of time working at non-profit organizations.

For the baseball team, "merit" includes a kid who is athletically gifted and who couldn't otherwise afford a Vanderbilt education.

Since they are a private institution and not a governmental institution they are allowed that type of discretion.

andy has the same scholarship limitations as every other SEC program. Vandy might be giving more academic not athletic scholarship money. I doubt it. Great school great program great town. Nashville is a lot better city than any other location in the SEC. what ever.

You sound like a Vanderbilt fan. Yes, Vandy hands out academic scholarships to their athletes, which is unfair, because those athletes are no more deserving of an ACADEMIC scholarship than LSU's athletes. When the NCAA put the limit on athletic scholarships in place, it gave schools like Vanderbilt a huge and undeserved advantage.

And not that it has anything to do with the point, but since you brought it up, what makes Nashville more interesting than any other town, unless you like country music?
