This team is bad in so many phases of the game there’s really not a “hey if they get hot” factor to them. It’s just a bad team

Im one of the most optimistic baseball fans on this board, i still thought they had a chance at omaha in 2024 after the awful start. I dont see it with this team, they arent constructed to win tight, low scoring games. Which is essential

If not, they’ll have to do better the second half. But that’s not far fetched. They’d need to go 2-1 in the 3 home series and 1-2 in the 2 away series
We're 14th in the SEC right now, only ahead of 2 absolute disasters of programs (USC and Mizzou)

It's actually pretty farfetched to assume a team that went 6-9 over the easy half of the schedule is going 8-7 on the hard half. We'll be favored in 1 of the remaining 5 series, and the other 4 teams will enter next week with RPIs in the 20s or better (we're ~75 if you're weren't paying attention)

We're 9 weekends in with 5 to go. It's not generalization anymore. We suck

This thread reminds me of the Miles era Positigers who would try their best to assure we still had all to play for after looking like crap to start a season. Looking mediocre as hell at 5-1 but "in control of our destiny" and gaslighting us as if we didn't know what was to come in October and November

This team was preseason #1 in the country and is struggling to even go 500 in the SEC.

Imagine if the football team was preseason #1, and then went 6-6.

Quit tolerating this bullshite

13-17 we’d get in

In some years that’s good enough

But not when you’re sitting #75 in RPI after 35 games. It’s not physically possible for a 7-9 run over the remaining SEC games to put a sufficient enough dent in that to even get us to the bubble

I’ve held out hope for the majority of this season. That’s really getting difficult at this point. I’ll still be there for every game possible but the hope that they are going to turn it on is getting dim.

Lol the point of positivity is to stay positive during adversity. You could compare this positive thread to any positive thread that didn’t work out and say “see, told ya.” I mean, sometimes a bad team stays bad, sometimes it doesn’t. Like I stated, there are instances where positivity worked out, like in 2023. Still makes no sense to generalize and spam the board with threads about how doomed we are.

I’d argue we played the tougher half first based on number of road games. Home games are always easier for us, even with the tougher opponent.

I look forward to pulling this thread at the end of the year…

Unlike many fan bases, we love baseball and for those that don’t love it..it still bridges the gap till football is around the corner.

Not being competitive is a huge disappointment, people are gonna vent.

Exactly, JJ is highest paid coach in the country with a very high NIL and top attendance every year.

What happened this season is unacceptable at LSU and changes are needed and fast.

The SEC is a clusterfrick though. We’re also 1 game behind State who every one was saying is the class of the SEC just 7 days ago lol.

You act like the season just began. The sample size is big enough to know this team isn't good.

the hay is in the barn on this season. There are no fixes. Without a legit Friday guy and poor defense and a lack of speed to play small ball, there isn’t anything that can fix it. Hitters must get red hot

I am sure Jay takes a different approach in the portal this year to fix the roster for next year.
