Because CPM thinks shortstops should play every position.

You do know that we went to the CWS finals with that philosophy right?

And it also hasn’t been the recruiting philosophy since the balls changed.

You really see Garza, Bianco, Beloso or Willis playing shortstop any time soon?

Gtfo dumbass

make no mistake that EVERY PRIVATE university has a distinct advantage in recruiting because those bastards have the little sisters of the poor scholarships for academics. It is complete bullshite and the NCAA chooses not to do a fricking thing about.

wait.. what? why does Vandy SUUUCK at basketball and football then?

They are better than us because they have better pitchers.. better hitting.. and better fielding.. if they happen to be bigger (on average).. it's purely coincidence.. this isn't football.

All teams that field basketball and football teams have at least 3 times as many scholarships than there are participating player on the field or court. Baseball teams only have 11.7 scholarships to give to 8 position players and 3-4 starting pitchers. Backups and bullpen pitchers don't have scholarships at schools like LSU.

It's pretty simple. They recruit more naturally gifted players. I don't understand why some idiots think that just because a guy is small he would be a better baseball player. It's fricking stupid.

Bro, we have TOPS which is one of the greatest advantages of any baseball program in the country when it comes to recruiting.

You’re just whining to whine at this point.

Guess my obvious sarcasm wasn’t so obvious. Even looking at MLB today guys like Yelich and Bellinger are lean.

This. Strength and conditioning makes you wonder. We do have big dudes, but they aren't necessarily playing up to their size, and a lot of them have been on ice this year for one reason or another. It's objectively a concern.

Pawl likes guys like himself for position players. Prefers speed and quickness over size and strength.

Why do people think this is the case? Andy why do people think this somehow compares to Vandy giving any kid from anywhere in the country a full ride without regard to scholarship limits?

TOPS, perhaps? Plenty of great players in Louisiana.

Because Vandy is a better baseball program than LSU and has been for probably 10 years now.
