An even better question. ... why does a school with severe quarterback woes give their quarterbacks coach a promotion??

It all comes back to Alleva.

I never understood it either. If we really wanted to have a ceiling of 9 wins I’d prefer we just kept Miles and waited on his buyout.

I just can’t imagine this is the answer for our qb troubles, but we shall see.

I think it's more of a case where LSU fans are tired of having to complain about the same things every year

Well if it is, we've got the current and former coaching staffs to blame. The have lied and fked things up so badly for the program...its ridiculous.

Because the opponents will never see it coming.

Who knew? You can just demand it? It's that simple? It's a revelation!!
Call coach O and demand it! Problem solved.

How many teams at the college level have elite QB play though?

OK, for argument's sake, I am going to demand it right now.

Did anything change yet?

What SEC teams have “elite” QB play? Honest question.

Yea as an LSU fan, I'd rather have a mediocre QB instead of an elite QB that may lead us to a NC.

You do realize that both LSU's recent national championships where won with game managing QB's, and Alabama has won 3 out of their last 5 with game managing QB's. The really great QB's are hard to find and often aren't the five start recruits out of high school. Admittedly, LSU hasn't been that great at selecting QB's either.

Danny Etling was a game manager and he got shite on daily.

Danny Shitling threw 50 yard passes over the fricking stadium lights to make the 50 yds.

Danny Shitling couldn't hit a barn 6 inches away without throwing it over the fricking roof.

National Championship winning Quarterbacks, This Millenium:

2017: Jalen Hurts/Tua Tagovailoa
2016: Deshaun Watson
2015: Jake Coker
2014: Barrett/Jones/Miller
2013: Jaemis Winston
2012: AJ McCarron
2011: Jordan Jefferson (kidding!)
2010: Scam Newton
2009: McElroy
2008: Tebow
2007: Flynn
2006: Leak/Tebow
2005: Vince Young
2004: Matt Leinart
2003: Mauck
2002: Troy Smith
2001: Ken Dorsey
2000: Jason White

18 champions. And your "elite" QBs were Newton, Watson, Winston, Young, and maybe Leinart.

That's 5 out of 18. More often then not, a "game manager" wins championships.

In the dubious category of what QB prospects received the patented LSU slow-walk recruitment, just speculating on what a QB like Mason Rudolph could've done over the last three years surrounded with this type of talent. Am sure there have been others.

this shouldn't be true though.

OK maybe "historic" might be a bad description

But if we are worse than 3rd defense in the SEC we aren't winning shite

Stockholm Syndrome.

And because some people feel like they are being bad fans if they are critical of the program, but they know our QB's aren't very good, so they try to rationalize and be positive about what the quarterbacks can do, which recently has meant handing the ball off and "managing the game."
