Why all the hate for Shores?

Kid got moonshotted in the eye and still crept the mound and delt - with ONE EYE!

he’s had some rough outings and people have 0 patience

Tossed it very well today - people need to get a grip - kid still hasn't fully healed or returned to form.

He did well today, but with that long frame, he sometimes struggles with his release point, and the lack of an “out” pitch or decent breaker, batters sit on his fastball, which they barrel up quite often. That’s just not a great combination of skills in the SEC. The wind was blowing in today, and he did well, just don’t have that much faith going forward, and I do hope I’m wrong..

Dude was out of competitive baseball nearly 2 years but since he didn’t come back and immediately pitch like the second coming of Paul Skenes he’s a bum.
Shores is doing fine, especially for a Sunday guy. Most of the “baws” on here have the emotional patience of a 14 year old girl.

He's not our best starter. He struggles hitting the zone at times. But he's still pretty good. The only run OU had when he exited the game was an unearned run.

Don't confuse hate for Shores on Tiger Rant for any semblance of baseball or pitching knowledge..... it's usually the same few posters who are drama queens that have never played baseball at any level.

His delivery is always gonna cause control issues. Needs to be fixxed

Our "fans" do not take into consideration that he did not pitch for roughly 2 seasons. I don't care about the early non-conference stuff this year. He has been looking better each outing in conference play. Probably still getting a feel for spots and release point. 5 innings from a Sunday starter is better than anything we had last year.

That's probably why he's pitching on Sundays.

Some folks around here just "don't know ball"
Same group wanted Eyanson pulled a few weeks ago

Honestly, I have no clue why.. if we are looking at how our Sunday guys have performed the last two years.. he’s a legit ace. He’s giving us 4-5 IP on Sunday, we haven’t had that ever under CJJ consistently

I’m pretty sure he’s fully healed. It’s been over 2 years since his surgery

People just making crap up, lol. He wouldn’t be pitching if not healed.

Might be putting words in their mouth, but I think they mean fully recovered instead of healed. As in he went through a major surgery and most go through a transition period to get back to form.

That's correct I probably should have been more specific but there's many other things to look at. Such as minor damage to the ulnar nerve and many other things they can complicate and make recovery longer harder, and mentally more taxing - whereas before this probably wasn't even entering his mind but now he's worried because if this were to happen again it would be the end of his pitching career more than likely.
I think the more he pitches and works on his delivery the more confident he will be - kid has a huge heart and I guarantee you when he gets that edge he's going to f*** people up.

I haven’t been able to really watch him much, but it looks like he only has two pitches. Is that the case, or is he throwing three? Only two is tough three times through.

I just think most people expect a 6'7 dude throwing 98 to be alot more dominant than he's been but he does seem to be improving from start to start.
