Herb was a pure option running back who could throw. Daniels is a scrambler. Different worlds.

Herb ran in 291 times for 778 yards for his career. That's a 2.7 yard avg. Daniels ran for 885 yards at a 4.8 per pace. Last year.

You be the judge.

Lets just all hope that Daniels runs a lot less this year. I was pretty shocked that he made it to November before being injured.

if he's going to be a serious Heisman contender, he'll need the running stats on top of what we all expect to be a much more effecting passing attack

and it will be a big key in LSU being in the CFP hunt, if defenses know he can pass AND run, they have to defend everything and essentially the whole field opens up

You people really can’t seem to comprehend the stress a legit running threat QB can put on a defense lol
It’s not about him running less, it’s 100% about him running smart and taking as few hits as possible

Herb was a QB that played in that type of offense because of the times, he definitely could play in a RPO offense in today's game. He had great instints for taking off and running with the football, so, I'm not to sure Daniels is that much better at running the ball.

Who was a better scrambler and passer JD or Burrow? See how that works? One is all time the second is not close to Hodson…

Herb Tyler is 46
Jayden Daniels is 22
Take Jayden Daniels as the better running QB.

His QB keeper end around run against Ole Piss made an impression on you, right? Lol

Daniels is a very good open field runner. Able to find gaps and very elusive in the open. Sees the field and knows which cuts to make and is able to avoid taking many hard shots. Only takes one bad decision tho to put him out of the game. But he is pretty tough and the extra weight will help

Yes. I understand that. I also understand that he got hurt. And as many yards and attempts as he had, we were lucky he didnt get hurt sooner. The threat needs to be there. But the realization of that threat should be much less frequent.

How does Nussmaier factor into this discussion? Could he become the New Burrow?
