When all of Louisiana's top players were going out of state, Kevin Faulk, the number one running back in America coming out of high school, chose LSU during Gerry Dinardo's first year as head coach. And in all four years he was in Baton Rouge, all he did was consistently produce All SEC and All American-type numbers. He was probably the most crucial player in bringing about the comeback of LSU football. He was the foundation.

Y.A. Tittle was great in the NFL, not on that level at LSU.
The 4 Tulane games is near to 1/3 of his total stats at LSU.
He was not an All American and during his time at LSU he made 2nd team all SEC twice.
