The 4 most decorated players in LSU history are:
That is the problem, the farer you go back in college football history the less awards there are to the point there are none.
Also All American is subjective to votes of region and who and how many players one could see in a season, the farer you go back on All American teams the less likely the list is good.
I know Camp only saw about 20 games max a year on his All American teams and most of those games he saw were in the northeastern area.
Coaches All American team votes were commonly filled out by assistant coaches, trainers and sometime team managers back in the day.
Johnny Robinson can not get into the college football Hall of Fame, this is due in part because he was never an All American and in those days it is normally the top rushers, touchdown leaders who made All American.
Johnny is as good as any back you can name.
Doc Fenton would be an all world player had TV been around in his day.
Tinsley is an end and he was light years ahead of his time for that position.
Steve Van Buren is not an All American but as the Miami paper said after the Orange Bowl, forget everything you heard or read, Steve Van Buren is the best college football player in American. Had Steve played at Notre Dame, Michigan, Army, Ohio State, he would have been an All American.
Old south football did not get the awards that should have been given due to lack of press.

I go WAY back. Stovall (6’2”-200 bs) was more recognized than Dorsey if you think about winning the Walter Camp and runner up for Heisman. HE WAS ROBBED of the Heisman. You have no idea how great he was. In fact, I believe he was a better overall player than
With that, Johnny Robinson was also a GREAT player. Had it not been for Cannon, he might have gotten the recognition he deserved, plus he won the SEC in Tennis.

Any list that doesn't include Casanova and Y.A. Tittle is not a serious list. Furthermore, any list that doesn't include the Heisman winners is not a complete list; therefore, the correct list for LSU's Mt. Rushmore is:
Y.A. Tittle
Billy Cannon
Tommy Casanova
Joe Burrow
Y.A. Tittle
Billy Cannon
Tommy Casanova
Joe Burrow

Sub Tittle for Stovall a s you’re golden. With that Johnny Robinson could be on there from 1958’s team.

To be fair to OP,
It might be a generational thing, but I always thought Glenn Dorsey was one of the most dominant college players ever.
Obviously it didn't play out for him on Sundays.
but I would have had him as close to the top for all-time tigers before Joey B.

The top four:
Joe Burrow
Tyrann Matheiu
Glenn Dorsey
Billy Cannon
The most elite and talented players are as follows
1. Patrick Peterson
2. Leonard Fournette
3. Odell Beckham
4. Jamal Adams
Fournette has rushing records that will never be touched with today's offenses. And he did it against 8 man fronts play after play. Would've had 2000 if the game early that year wasn't cancelled. Bama game stung and the 3 losses at the end stole that Heisman from him. But that didn't change just how dominant he was from day one on campus. He honestly is the best player I've ever gotten to see play live. Was a pro going against middle schoolers that season it looked like. Would just run over feared tacklers from the start.

Burrow, OBJ, Glen Dorsey and Mathieu were so much fun it was absurd. It’s unreal the pro Mathieu has become. Don’t be a lame and think otherwise. OBJ can hand me cash any day. How awesome would this mountain look?? And for all you old white folks; imagine Billy Cannon shooting the laser to carve out their faces. That is pretty bad arse.
