Durkin?

I don't think Alleva would have made this quality of hire.

Durkin was 6-7 last year coming off his first year as head coach. He would've been a bad hire.

Yeah.

I wouldn't have liked it. But he couldn't have been any worse than what we settled for. At least he had a comparatively decent resume.

Gundy was the first guest on the miles podcast. He wasn’t taking this job.

We will be ever know because a real search wasn’t conducted. But how did Franklin get to Penn? I imagine it’s a similar situation. Maybe Fleck? Maybe Chip Kelly if we wait long enough. Maybe a guy like Bobby Petrino. Point is, who knows with a real search.

Taking over a team that went 3-9 and 1-7 in conference the year before. I don't think he would have been a great hire, but he certainly isn't 3-21 in conference play bad.

We need a guy like Leach. He's not just a coach, he's got the type of famous personality and 'do it my way' attitude that would be a great fit to put LSU back on the map immediately.

The state is extremely ripe for his type of offense. Louisiana is loaded at WR year in and year out, and QBs would be beating down the door for a chance to throw up 350-400 yards a game in a Mike Leach offense.

Look what he's done at schools like Texas Tech and Washington State! Washington State has facilities comparable to some mid-major programs. It's really amazing what he's doing there.

He also doesn't strike me as a guy that would just settle for being Bama's bitch. He self identifies as a pirate! He strikes me as the type of guy that would declare long awaited war on them.

Has only been at va tech for a year...don't think he would've left.

FLECK was very obviously seeking a bigger job and the same time we were looking. It wouldve been match made in heaven

What head coach would not NOT take over Orgeron?

I think he was literally the worst possible hire. In fact, making him the interim coach last year was the worst decision of all. Orgeron had already shown that he gets butthurt if the interim tag is not followed by the head coaching gig. Moreover, anyone that knows anything about football could have predicted that it would not go well if he became the head coach.

We could have kept his as the D-line coach and head recruiter for a long time...now, he will be gone within the year and the football program with have to deal with the aftermath of his ineptness as a head coach.

Gundy QB’d at OSU. He’s got the support of AD and T Boone Pickens. They gave him the shot at HC and stuck by him through challenging times. And he’s got kids in middle and high school. He ain’t leaving.

Moscona said Gundy let it be known through back channels early in the search process that he wasn't interested. TIFWIW

I thought it was pretty established Gundy didn't want to leave Okie St. Just not happening. I think we can move along from that idea.
