He's exceeded my expectations so far, but not by much. I thought he'd do decently to begin with. He's killing it in recruiting, and I love the staff he's thrown together. I don't believe he's surpassed Miles yet, but I am starting to believe he will. Not 100% sure about next season yet (though very positive), but I feel like we'll be a juggernaut in 2020.

He has exceeded expectations because the expectations were so very very low. Yay! I don't understand why true LSU fans would be so happy to accept a mediocre future and complete irrelevance when it comes to playoffs. Oh well.

not with Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson. But that is not the point. we had slipped pretty badly vs Bama talent wise.

Why are you village idiots so worried about Will Wade’s popularity and it being more than 0’s?

Not sure what Wade has to do with "O"

Both coaching at LSU
Finished 6th last year in the final poll in football
Finished 15th last year in the final poll in basketball
Different sports and I support both, football seems to be on the upswing and basketball is also but has a big ? mark on the future.

Wade has brought on quite a bit of negative light to the program with his supposed remarks on tape and has involved LSU into a possible scandal but unproven to date.

Football and basketball this past season were both enjoyable and baseball is still underway and if we get healthy we may make it to the CWS.

Athletics at LSU right now is great and I pull for "O", WW and CPM and all 3 need our support.

We have a new AD and to me football next year looks great on paper,

If WW takes LSU to the sweet 16 next year I will be delighted and he deserve all the credit deserved.

So I guess I am a village idiot for supporting LSU football, baseball and LSU basketball. You do know that most fans love our school and love our current coaches until it's time to move on. Right now it is not the time to move on for all 3 coaches mentioned in the thread.

Pull for them all until it's time to not.

Huh? Orgeron is putting up the same numbers that post-1/9/12 Les did. Pre-1/9/12 Les kicks the shite out of Orgeron right now.

pre 1/9/12 Les no longer existed. It's looking like he is an upgrade over post 1/9/12 les but we will know a lot more about this during the 2019 football season. Over the next 2-3 years we will find out just how good he can be.

just wasn't in his nature. That sort of points out what had become the problem with coach Miles.

He hasn’t scored a single point against them at home with his hand picked OC in two tries.

He has absolutely exceeded my expectations...which were pretty low after his Ole Miss debacle. He has shown me that he can put together a damn strong team and can have some pretty stellar seasons from time to time.

Miles won consistently for so long at LSU that I am not ready to say whether O was an upgrade or not after a single season.

I am pretty positive about O here at LSU.

Once Saban was established Miles didn’t have a chance in hell. Bama former players still laugh and joke that they knew every single play.

How does this justify O exceeding expectations?

Since Nick Saban has been at Alabama can you tell us which coach has the most wins against him? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not Ed Orgeron.

Didn’t Les get fired for too many 9-3 seasons? And you’re celebrating O after his first 2 full seasons as HC both ended in 9-3 regular seasons? Exceeding expectations is having us in contention for CFP, not producing the same records that got his predecessor fired

People really do not understand that you basically had no Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney when Les won the national championship in 2007. Saban was in his first year at Bama and Dabo wasn’t even the Clemson head coach yet. Miles lost to Houston Nutt and Rich Brooks and had some shocking upsets the last week of the season and the conference championship weekends in order for him to even be in it. He backdoor’d his way into the National Championship in 2007. People give him way too much credit when in all truth LSU was very lucky to even be playing in the 2007 National Championship game.
