Fun times.

He's also using "Miles Era" to describe a 3 year stretch.

You're getting your rocks off worrying about scoring points against Bama???

Hollow victories much?

Has a team ever won a game scoring zero points?

We need to worry about scoring MORE than Bama and winning....not just taking comfort in scoring a few measly points just to say we scored.

guess Tennessee should still have Fulmer and UT should still have Mac Brown because of what was accomplished during their “era”.

I swear to god Earl some of these silly fricks are scared...to....death that O might somehow turn this team around and actually accomplish something for fear that it might somehow belittle what Miles accomplished.

I disagree Red. I don't believe people are scared that o will do great things here. I believe people get tired of the different standards that have been applied to each coach.

3 loss seasons were frowned upon in the past. Now there's people jumping for joy after 3 loss seasons. Hell, there are some folks on here that weren't happy with 2 loss seasons. Even ones that ended in Championships.

As far as belittling Miles accomplishments. Some on here do it but it really says more about them than it does Miles. His record here is fact. His teams wins can't be dismissed, His teams championships will always be part of LSU history.

If or when o and his teams start winning some championships, people will start warming up to him being the coach.

That's my opinion about all of this crap.

Which is why bragging about finishing 6th in the AP poll is for the foolish.

I disagree. If you’re going to compare all 130+ teams in the country, there’s no other way to do so

Well in a thread where we are tearing apart a 2007 Championship because they had 2 losses, does everyone realize that going into the Bowl game we are #11, and that the only reason we went up to 6 is that 4 teams above us, including the team we beat, lost? And, tied with Texas, we had a 5 spot jump, which is pure luck that it worked out that way.

Are we clear on that?

If 2007 is a crap championship because of 2 losses, than 2018 #6 is a crap rating because the season worked out to create a larger than average jump in the polls. That's called luck.

Serious question for you and the miles guys...

What will it say about Miles as a coach if the worst coach in Ole Miss history has a more successful career at LSU?

6 in one, half dozen in the other. Saying we were "lucky" is tearing down the accomplishment.

I hope you do. Then maybe you'll see the hilarity in calling out posters for comparing two coaches after admitting you're hanging your hat on comparing two coaches.

I forgot to mention the other comment I was amused by...
quote:

Its stupid. People should be happy that we're moving in a positive direction. Instead, lets fking tear down O....who's been here all of 2 and half years

So, it's premature to "tear down O", but it's perfectly reasonable to conclude the direction of the program is "much much much" better?

I suppose it will say that he isn't the most accomplished coach in LSU history anymore. Are you trying to suggest that if o has a more successful career at LSU, than everything Miles accomplished will disappear?

But if o is going to do that, he better get his arse in gear 'cause he's already wasted 2 seasons.
