Crowton circa 2007.

Watts was good with the Faulk/Kennison years.

Jimbo worked for a different Saban than the one we know today. We were notorious for getting a lead, Saban tells Jimbo to let the air out of the ball, LSU defense starts to falter, we have to hang on for dear life to get the win.
What was strange about Jimbo and Les was when Les was at OSU this guy was there and the Cowboys loved to throw it all over the place:
Rashaun Woods

While attending Oklahoma State University, Woods played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team from 2000 to 2003. He finished his college career with 293 receptions, 4,414 yards and 42 touchdowns—all Big 12 records. Woods was a two-time all-American, including being recognized as a consensus first-team All-American in 2002.[1] He became the eighth player in NCAA Division I-A annals to gain over 1,000 yards receiving in a season three times in a career. Woods also holds the NCAA single-game record for most touchdown receptions in a game (7 against Southern Methodist University in 2003) and most touchdown receptions in a half (5 in the first half of the same SMU game). All seven touchdowns were thrown by former Kansas City Royals infielder Josh Fields.

The answer is , Never. People used to roast jumbo when he was here.

I dont think we have had one that I can remember.
Jimbo had the best run, but folks jumped off his band wagon. They called him to vanilla and people celebrated the coming of the wizard.
I remember when the "tunnel screen or bubble screen" became a derogatory remark bounced around about Jimbo.

The correct answer, is of course Jimbo. This man would be head coach today if only the news media and the collective powers that be had kept their mouths shut in late 2015 when Les Miles was having his troubles. Frick Alleva^2.
Probably right, but I wonder how the FSU fans feel about Jimbo this year? Sure, his young starting QB got hurt, but isn't it his job to have a viable back up?

Please...Jerry Rice was just the WR coach and Gruden only coached QBs. Urban Meyer was the OC.

Les had too much success running it. He really believed he had built a team that could run it on anyone.

Jimbo was probably 50/50

The Wizard in 2007 had so many plays and formations. The offensive play calling in the National Championship game was beautiful. One of those TDs to the TE Richard Dickson was perfectly called.

Agreed on Mack Brown, one great year in the 80's, way before he got fat and happy.

I would agree with you, but it was obvious that Jimbo and Les had a different opinion on the offensive direction.
that is pretty well known. jimbo fought with miles all the time. There is a reason Saban said jimbo was his best play caller he has ever had. FACT!

The Wizard in 2007 when he had all those fun toys and a fifth year Jimbo trained QB.

Nah, Flynn was a gamer, and that was part of our offense. We were aggressive as shite and weren't scared to make a mistake because we knew we could make up for it.
Flynn threw 30 passes a game, over 200 yards a game, and 21 touchdowns. And that's WITH a team that ran for 3000 yards. It was remarkable not even just in terms of LSU history.
Not a JJ hater here (or Lee), but Flynn didn't have the entire offense on his shoulders like JJ did in his good season in 09 when we couldn't run the ball for shite. Flynn could take risks, so he had more incompletes and picks.
But he was a very good compliment to that ground game, and Crowton used him to really maximize that offense unlike anything I've seen in Baton Rouge
cant deny any of this. good post
