A few fanbases won’t be happy about their perm opponents come December, some teams will get fricked over.
Yeah, they'll have those two teams, but we're talking about a third team. Whether it happens or not, I think it makes all the sense in the world for LSU and Auburn to pair up again.
Far be it for college football, in any conference, to try to make actual sense, though. West coast teams in the ACC, no divisions, but still a conference championship game (makes no sense at all), and now I'm sure we'll be scratching our heads at the permanent opponents.

OP is a youngun. LSU and A&M played every year in the 80's and 90's. Its as much as a rivalry as you'll get.

I hate them so much that I don't want to deal w them every year. Losing to the most embarrassing fan base in ALL OF SPORTS is the most infuriating thing that can happen and it didnt until the refs made sure they won that 7 OT game and broke the streak and those losers felt great about winning the most rigged game ive ever seen in cfb. Theyre not worthy to be a top 3 rival.

Yes, they hate us more than we hate them. They seem to think they are on equal footing with LSU, if you listen to their fans. They haven't even won a conference championship since the early 60s I believe...and never even played in the SEC Championship game. Yet, they believe they are as good as LSU, all the Division, SEC, and National Titles by LSU be damned.

aTm is the loser that showed up to the party that doesn’t realize they ruined it, and LSU got stuck talking to them and can’t get away.
I wouldn’t want to play them every year even if we were guaranteed to win.
Never disliked a college athletic program for simply existing like I do the aggies. I don’t want them to be our rival, and don’t want to be reminded every year that they ruined our conference.

I would 100% prefer auburn or Florida over them. Only plus is it’s a relatively easy road trip to make and lots of fans like myself have family in that area to visit. At least with this new format we won’t be waiting decades to play Auburn/UF.

A&M is a formidable foe, whether folks want to admit it or not. The series with them has been pretty even over the last 6ish years. That said, playing them just doesn’t really excite me. Not like an Auburn, Florida, or more traditional SEC team.
