Wake’s ERA is 2.52. The next closest team has a 3.42 ERA. They are the best pitching staff in the country and it isn’t even close.

We make it to Omaha If these things happen:

Skenes and Floyd go at least 7 in the rest of their starts in regional and supers. We have 2-3 dependable bull pen arms to finish those games. We play good defense and our offense gets out of its slump.
With our pitching, bad defense, and Crews and Dugas no where to be found can not lose a game and expect our pen to bring it home. 5-0 or we don’t make it to Omaha.

I’m going to assume whoever LSU plays will have a much deeper pitching staff.

Why?

Anything less than 5-0 in the regional/SR and there is little chance. A loss is killer with this pitching staff, and a 3 seed likely has better arms for a 4th game in a regional than LSU does.

How does that keep us from getting to Omaha?

Wouldn't shock me either way. We have the bats for sure. Obvious weaknesses are pitching and defense...time will tell

Don’t see it happening this year. Lack of pitching and the bats have become inconsistent, along with fielding on the infield. Not a recipe for getting to Omaha.

For some reason, this is amusing to me because I can't tell if this is sarcasm. Is he your friend? Do you want him to boom it? Are you laughing at him?

Guess I have been on the Rant too much today.

Why do you think that?

You think there are a lot of teams outside the top 32 that have 4 quality pitchers?

Made my reservation before the first game. Went to the first pitch banquet and saw the players in person, blown away by their physicality.

GTFO. ACC, brah. That's like #4 in the SEC.

Generally true, but specifically wrong. Wake deserves to be #1 overall right now. In ACC, SEC, USA, FBI, CIA, whatever.

Crews will come around, Dugas needs too, a few relief pitchers have to actually give us a few good innings. I believe this will happen.

Also, would be great to see Belosoe work on hitting opposite way in the regionals, would surprise teams. Even if its half contact he will reach.

No doubt about it. But if they were in the SEC would they be any better than say Tennessee? The SEC has much better lineups top to bottom than the ACC has. It’s not close.
