I say Alan Faneca.

A good friend of mine recruited and signed Faneca to LSU from Rosenberg, Tx.

Also, Larry Zierlein coached both Mawae and Faneca.

Nacho Albergamo?

Albergamo was good, not great. He is, without a doubt, the most overrated offensive lineman in LSU history.

Someone else mentioned Lance Smith. Again, a good lineman, but not even in contention with Whitworth, Mawae, and Faneca.

He has not been as dominant as Collins was.
By the ratings of this thread, La'el Collins might be the most underrated offensive lineman in LSU history.

Idk about that, i don't think Collins wasnt moved out to tackle til his last year at LSU.... Pretty sure he played his first two years at LG. You could probably make the argument LC was a more physical run blocker but WC has been at LT since day 1 which is more difficult and Campbell has his best ball at LSU still in front of him, I also am pretty sure I heard on a podcast that WC doesn't even turn 21 til January, taking nothing from LC, he was a great tiger but if I have to take a LT I'm taking WC

You are going to catch a little shite because he was a fan favorite and has been a great Tiger and alumni but you are not wrong.

No, he played left tackle in 2013-14.
(But guards were important in run-heavy Miles O. When guards weren't playing well to get the run game going, that's something that would make the offense stall at times.)

Collins also had the ability to start as a freshman.
There were veterans in place. But none had the upside ability of Collins.

LSU fan (1st season I remember is 1977).

Faneca was dominant from GAME ONE, absolutely dominant.

IMO he was noticeably better than Andolsek, Whithworth or Mawae.

He’s not only the best OL but the best LSU player of my lifetime.

I love Joe but he wasn’t dominant from game one

In their NFL prime this like would lead a mediocre skilled team to the Superbowl.

Ok so Collins played 2 years of LT at LSU, I think I remember that now. Also looked and Chris Faulk was starting at LT when LC began starting in 2012
