Luke Holman is on the D1Baseball All-American Team and Thatcher Hurd is on the Baseball America All-American Team.

I assume Hurd is the guy until proven otherwise, but has either of them stood out in practice so far? Nice problem to have...

I'm just hoping they are all looking good - no arm issues, velo is up, and they are all throwing at least 3 pitches for strikes...

I felt like Hurd was a better reliever than starter. Obviously he did well vs UF in the finals though.

With Hurd it’s all about whether he can throw his breaking ball for strikes.

It will be Hurd for opening day at least. Hopefully he plays well enough to hold onto that spot

Hurd. And I'm basing that largely on the way Jay Johnson talks about Thatcher Hurd. He was singing his praises at the end of the season last year and hasn't stopped since.

It seems that CJJ wants it to be Hurd. When Hurd is on it's pretty damn fun to watch

It has been very fun to watch him over and over again in his last game...

Hurd was great in May and June in both capacities. Starting with the extra inning win against Georgia and continuing into the SEC tournament and obviously in Omaha. I think he’s gonna have a huge year.

Last year a lot of it was between the ears with him and not being able to control all that gnarly spin he generates. He’ll put it all together again this year just like we saw at the back end of 2023

I think the Texas game showed us a lot about Hurd. 4.2 IP and 3 hits. He's hard on opposing offenses when he's commanding that fastball

it will be some combination of...

Hurd, Holman & Jump

Lots of good arms on this staff.

Switch Holman and Jump, and that should be your rotation

Honestly man he has great stuff, just had trouble finding and keeping the zone once SEC play started and therefore couldn't be relied upon. Maybe Yeskie can help him with that and he can actually be a reliable arm this year, at least out of the pen if not a starter somewhere in the week.

I agree, the talent is clearly there. Many forget he's really young for his class. Hope Yeskie can fix him!

People forget how young Little is because he’s been around forever and he’s enormous.

The dude is younger than Griffin Herring.

I think a lot of pitchers had issues last year as the refs were pretty tight in the zone.

Which is fine if you’re a diesel MFer like Skenes who can just gas by people.

Quick sidebar question for the thread:

Which pitcher is currently throwing the highest velocity, and what is the approximate max. velocity recorded so far this spring?
