I think Jay would love to use Ackenhausen similarly to Cooper, although I doubt he has the same rubber arm like Cooper.

I don't think we will end up with anyone really being used like Cooper. He soaked up a ton of innings because Jay had so much trust in him, especially compared to the rest of the staff.

I think there will be more trust in staff overall than there was last year.

Given that about 5% of us have seen any of them since June it is kinda a guessing game.

But my guess is Hurd, Holman, Jump. Ack will be used like Riley, I hope he is as effective

If any are similar to Cooper in usage, it may be Loer. Or he may be the first they look at anyway.

Based on his stats from last season, while he's fine against a team seeing him a second (or third) time, he doesn't necessarily bounce back from short rest all that well.

#4 starter likely comes from this group (Herring, Ack, Coleman, Anderson)

Give me Anderson. Give him the midweek starter role to groom him to be a weekend rotation guy for the next two years. It seems like we’ll have enough bullpen depth, especially with lefties, to not necessarily need him on the weekends.

Cooper had mechanics that reminded me of Tommy John. Most pitchers try to throw offspeed pitches while disguising them to look like a fastball. They get the hitter swinging to early.

Coop looked so casual throwing the ball and everything looked like it was offspeed. He surprised a lot of hitters when he would bust a low 90's fastball on them while they were looking for a change up.
